Actually, we play in Division I - FCS.

What's the difference?

BTW, you can have NTSU in D-2 back if you want them.

Maybe on television, but not on the field. Third, SMU's second team could probably go out and beat TxSt. on game day. Fourth, your team might surprise us if they put up more than 21 points. This game should be a good help to the psyche of our defense. Good day kind sir!

No way huh? LOL.

Really dude. Texas State? Cmon. You have to be messing with us. Youre not serious! You are? Oh. Wow! Well, uh, I guess we'll see you in Dallas. Good Luck then, & have an embarrassing ride home.

When asked at lunch the other day what I expected, I said I can make an argument for losing every game or for winning every game (except Tech). The window is somewhere between four and eight wins. If this team wins three or less, I will be very surprised. If this team wins nine or more, I will be stunned. Most likely, I think we are looking at five wins.

Still, nobody in Conference USA is so much better than the field that SMU can't beat them.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I don't think you can call anything a "def win" after a 1-11 season. Forte is gone, but as bad as our D was in that game Estelle Getty could have suited up at RB and still gone for 100 yards and 2 TDs.

She'd have to sit out for a year if she tranferred from ECU.

D-2 has 35 scholorships per year. FCS has 65 per year. FBS has 84 per year.
D-2 plays all sports on a D-2 level.
FCS plays all sports on a D-1A level with exception of football.
You should be happy UNT is D-1A. That was your only win last year.

I don't think you can get much help from her since she's no longer with us.

I don't know, maybe there's room for her on the defensive line?

7-5

All our CUSA opponents have question marks.

Rice - A defense worse than our own returns
Tulane - Who replaces Forte - their entire offense last year
UCF - Lost Smith and new QB starter
Tulsa - New QB; must replace top 5 defenders; home game
Houston - No Alridge, Avery or Harvey, key losses on defense, new coach; home game
Memphis - New QB; must replace RB Doss; 2 of top 3 defenders must be replaced; home game
UTEP - Must replace Thomas, Sam and some key defensive losses as well.
So Miss - New QB, key defensive losses - only 4 starters return; home game.

Certainly SMU has questions too, but Texas Tech looks like the only definite loss at least on paper. I wasn't overwhelmed by the TCU offense featuring Andy Dalton at QB and hopefully there will be no fireworks to start the Navy game.

I will feel much better once our QB is named and if its not Willis, I reserve the right to amend my prediction.

I think this is a season where you might see that coaching can make a big difference. This team was better than 1-11 last year. The new staff, return of Dennis, additions of Odiari and some freshmen along with size, strength and maturity of the returning players will make SMUs defense much better than last year - can't get any worse, right?

I have to believe by the end of the year at least, our offense will be even better under Jones.

jt, if you think it's such a joke, you should call your AD and tell him to schedule a preseason top #10 FCS team to play at Ford in an upcoming season. I'd lay $100 on the other team, easy.
