Memphis gets 4-star transfer from Auburn

Postby GeorgiaMustang » Wed Aug 13, 2008 11:19 am

DeRon Furr, a 4-star athlete out of Carver High School in my hometown of Columbus, GA, has decided to transfer from Auburn to Memphis. He enrolled early at Auburn and went through spring practice. He played QB in high school and led his team to an undefeated season and the 3A state championship his senior year. He switched to DB at Auburn where he will play at Memphis.

On that state championship team was also FSU signee Jarmon Fortson along with current senior and 3-star linebacker LeRon Furr and 4-star linebacker Jarvis Jones. Talk about a solid team.

This guy is a serious athlete. He will automatically raise the talent level in the Memphis secondary, but he will have to sit out a year per transfer rules. He was given a full release by Tommy Tuberville, and he never played a snap during a game.

Rivals lists him as a 4-star athlete and scout lists him as a 3-star QB.
Those who complain about a problem are simply wasting time they could use to fix it.

Potential is nothing, performance is everything.
