I have gone back and read all your posts. They all deal with Bo Levi. What's up with that?

I would say that I'm pretty sure who ponywarrior and SMUmustans are. They are in a position to know some things. It would surprise me to see their sons start but I leave it to the great JJ to give the final word.

you might very well be right about who they are, and we all know on this board many things get leaked. The players are suppose to get keep to themselves what decisions the coaching staff makes and not tell anything to non team members or family either but we all know they dont keep to that.

I am a huge Katy football fan, so of course I keep up with Bo Levi, which is why I got on here. So what...There seems to be a lot of people with an agenda. Since I have been on here Nacho, I will say that Bo has gotten a lot of negative posts and very few positive ones. I think that will start to change when you see what he can do.

One more comment...If you don't want new posters on here, close down the site. I am sure there are new posters that have family or team ties to the new players. Sorry we're not welcome but learn to live with it.

one thing ive learned as an Anthro major is that EVERYONE has an agenda and second, PFs welcomes any and everyone on this board, its just that some people step way out of the boundaries and are removed from the site, you have in no way done that but the one thing you must understand is this is where people are criticized and more or less blamed for poor play on the field. Lots of negative posts happen and there is nothing you or me can do about that. Whoever JJ picks as the starter, im putting all my marbles in his basket. But you must know that being a starting QB at SMU will bring lots of negative comments, JW broke lots of records and did great things the past two years but he might have received more negative comments than positive ones. and sorry, you are welcomed so learn to live with it!

Can anyone tell me a negative thing that has been said about Bo Levi. He is inexperienced but that is a fact and not negative, just reality. Loosen up.

knowing now that Ponywarrior is from Katy, leads me to believe that Bo will in fact be the starter. The quote where he said, "what will you guys do when u find out Bo is the Starter" leads me to believe the rumor.

I trust JJ but if he decides to start a true Freshman QB, my enthusiasm for this season will nose dive. No offense to Bo, I'm sure he will be a great QB here at some point but starting as a true freshman QB doesn't often go well on the D1 level (that includes top 100 national QB's).

I am sure Coach Jones will do a lot of things differently than some of us think we would. But the guy has resurrected a team before. He knows what he is doing. I don't expect an instant turnaround this season. I'd love it, but I don't think it is going to happen. Whomever he thinks is the best QB for our team, I'm behind him all the way. Geez. Talk about a short honeymoon phase!

For those that believe Chang and Brennan were system QBs, then they shouldnt have a problem with who JJ puts in at number 1

In football when moving to a new system it takes time to adjust, when moving to a new system at a higher level it takes even more time to adjust. In Zimmerman’s video interview even he mentioned that the young qb's were slower releasing the ball than Willis or Turner. That’s called experience. Experience that had to be learned. The throw and hope uses a shallow protection pocket for the qb and fast read and release from the qb to be successful. Let hope the coach gives the young qb's time to develop prior to throwing them to the wolves.

While I agree with everyone who is concerned about the learning curve for our freshmen I do not think that means we are better off with Willis. The problem Willis had even in Phil's offense was impatience. Phil often complained that he would not scramble when he felt pressure, but he would run. In the R & S this type of QB play will not work. Furthermore, Willis never impressed me with his accuracy and what is the most important trait for the R & S QB -- accuracy.

So perhaps with the freshmen we loose while they learn the speed of the game or perhaps with Willis we loose while everyone screws up the R & S trying to play with Willis improvised plays. If that is JJ's conundrum, then if I were him I would choose the freshmen so that everyone is learning my offense.

I believe that whomever JJ chooses he will choose because he believes it gives us the best chance to win this year as well as in the future. I personally would like that to be Willis. However, I never expected us to win a conference championship this year, but I darn sure expect it in the future. If that requires starting a freshman QB then so be it.
