Congratulations! Would you do the same if it was JW? Or have his skins on the wall (in 2 seasons: 7 wins, 3 suspensions, 0 Conference Championships, 0 Bowl berths) earned him a pass?

You're kidding right? You thought we were going to win a conference championship this year? Please tell me you are under the influence as you wrote that.

What is the matter with people from this school?!

The L-O-W-E-R-I-N-G of expectations game has begun. Who was that wise poster who refused to make a prediction before the starting lineups were announced. The rest of you are cooked-we've got your predictions and they will live in infamy!!!!!!!!! EDIT and ERASE!

when you are an SMU fan, your expectations should be at the floor low.

So why the rash of Doom & Gloom all of a sudden? It's as if we were ranked in the Top 10 until today's announcement.

My God. I can't believe you guys! You were all thrilled to get a coach of JJ's character and ability, I assume because you trusted his judgment (After all, I believe he does know more about football than all but two of you guys who base your knowledge on what you read on stats) and now, when he makes a call based upon that trusted experience and judgment, you abandon ship! Absolutely ridiculous!

We heard the same crap when Lance was inserted in the game against the #2 Longhorns.

How do we know JJ didn't think Willis couldn't adjust to this offense as well as the others when all was said and done? It is a different offense afterall.

You can throw the Rivals Ratings out the window. We will be starting a 2 star 5.2 rated QB over one that was rated 3 stars, 5.3. Let the debates about Rivsl's ratings begin!

Jones picked the one he thought was the best QB for this season. If he thought otherwise, he would have red-shirted BLM to let him grow and let Willis run the offense this year. Jones said BLM had a strong arm and was accurate and understood the offense. He also said that Willis was 1 or 2 plays away from starting. Apparently he started Timmy Chang as a freshman and he lit it up at Hawaii. I have not seen the competition, so I can't compare these guys, but Jones did and Morrision did and they came out with BLM as the starter and Smith as #2. I can't fault them at all. I like JW and hope that he is utliized by the team somehow. There may be teams that JJ might choose to play Willis because the teams have a great pass rush and his escapability might be helpful. Or perhaps JJ will utilize him in other ways. Holder on place kicks with fakes. He can contribute if he gets past this setback.
