December 2007 Alamodome in San Antonio Class 5A Division II Championship game. I could not find verification of attendance. Game was televised on Fox Sports Net.chillinfool wrote:JJ said BLM has played in big games, even said he played in front of 62,000 before, I'd like to know where? Attendance for a state championship game is around 30,000.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I don't know if these stats are current though the end of 2007 or not.Stallion wrote:that 62,000 figure is a bunch of BS. No Texas High School Game in History has had more than about 50,000(the famous HP v. Plano game in McIllhenny's Senior year was one of the highest). This year they had all the official (not Big School) State Championships played at a single site in San Antonio so that would be a combined number for all the games. I'd be surprised if more than 30,000 at one game.

Attendance is not an official statistic kept at Texas

"He's played in a lot of big games before," Jones said. "In high school, he played in front of (about) 62,000 in San Antonio."
Maybe that's what happened, JJ views BLM through "rose colored" glasses! 30,000 fans turns into 62,000 with JJ's math, a barely over 50% high school completion percentage turns into 100%, 9 completions a game is 18, etc.
The truly impressive stat about BLM is TD/Int ratio, 34/4 or something like that. BUT, Katy was a run first team, and most defenses played 8 in the box with the recievers man-to-man, so I still think the jury is still out on what a great high school QB he was, he definantly didn't put up Riley Dodge type numbers.
