Assuming everyone returns, how many football scholarships does SMU have to give next year?
Are any walk-ons or transfers who are practicing this seaon likely to receive scholarships?

Re: How many scholarships?Good question. I have heard that if no one transfers or quits, we will have 18 scholarships available for 2003. If that is correct, it is a pity because we appear to be developing a very good 2003 class. Even worse, I have heard that if no one leaves, there are only 10 scholarships available for the class of 2004. It is a pith that Bennett won't be able to sign a full class the next two years becuse these coaches can obviously recruit.
Re: How many scholarships?I'm not wishing ill will toward anyone, but I bet a few guys transfer or retire (injuries?) before Signing Day, and some more before next year. Bennett will get some players in here.
"It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses."
... "Hit it."
Re: How many scholarships?I'm not wishing anyone bad fortune either, but if Bartel is under a cloud as reported on both boards, it may be that another 'ship opened up yesterday.
Re: How many scholarships?Does anyone know if that's true about Bartel? Or just a flame?
Go PONIES!
