Hawaii will not make a bowl this year.

Actually, Hawaii *will* make a bowl this year--Hawaii goes to the Hawaii Bowl as long it is bowl-eligible (and not going to a BCS Bowl).

I loved the Tomey years (before Arizona got him with a bigger contract and better facilities, sounds familiar) and Wagner had one amazing season (culminating in the Holiday Bowl). I'd rather not think about the coach before JJ...those were painful years.

I do agree that there are some bitter Hawaii fans posting here, but I think that most wish JJ well and are focused on the McMackin era at Hawaii.

Garret,

I know most Hawaii fans are not like Warbow and July Jones. I wish the Warriers well and thanks for all timely information you give us.

Bear in mind that anti-Hawaii sentiment is not directed at you. Do not kill yourself.

LOL! I know that your post wasn't directed towards me, but I couldn't help but mention that Hawaii will be in a Bowl this season (I'm predicting 9-4, but even 7-6 gets Hawaii in). To give you an idea of what type of Hawaii fan I am:

My parents started getting season tickets to Hawaii games since before I was born and I had the same 35-yard-line loge seat since Aloha Stadium was built. We even paid for my 2 season tickets that were next to my parents for *13* years after I left Hawaii, giving them away to Hawaii fans, until I turned down a professor position at Hawaii and took a job elsewhere...we finally figured out that I wouldn't be moving back to Hawaii for work so they gave up the tickets.

Last season I went to Hawaii games at UNLV, San Jose State, and the Sugar Bowl. I went to the 2006 Hawaii Bowl when Hawaii drilled Arizona State. I will be at the Oregon State game in less than a month...
