I think Willis can be a good one with a dose of discipline. He either improves to JJ's standards or he doesn't. He is now in a position to determine his future.
After thinking long and hard about the QB situation, I find it nearly impossible that JJ won't play Willis. So I'm still looking forward to seeing JW on that field once the season starts.
Let’s put some logic thinking in to the qb line-up.
a. How often has JJ played a qb when the starter was not injured? (Seconds qb goes in for a little mop up, got to keep him hopeful)
b. It will take all the playing time a new qb can get to pick up the Throw and Hope.
c. JW has seen his fate is showing a good face and will most likely transfer in January.
d. It is possible Turner has hopes also and also does not want 4 years of pine
splinters in the backside (It can get cold sitting on a bench week after week). He could also be gone in January.
e. Then again JW and Turner may only want a degree and do not mind sitting on the bench and know they can’t compete.
Keep in mind that JJ himself moved around in school Oregon 71-72, Hawii 73-74 and Portland State 75-76
