Season Preview from Saturday Sound Offs...

THE OUTLOOK: SMU will struggle......early on. This is a somewhat young team both on offense and defense and while it will take some time to adjust to the system for the offense, the team will begin humming on all cylinders some time in October. Hopefully, it won't be too late though. I don't happen to think it will. When things click for for Bo Levi Mitchell (my guess to be the starter) or possibly Justin Willis if he picks up on running the offense, the offense will be extremely prolific and almost impossible to stop. While the personnel may not be there to get excited about it, June Jones has done this before. Remember 1999 Hawaii? While I'm not quite suggesting that SMU will win C-USA because the landscape of non-BCS football has become so much deeper and better now, I don't think a bowl game is completely out of the question. I really don't. If they get to 6-6, they're a lock to beat out some other teams with similar records because of the storyline.
BOWL GAME?: Hawaii Bowl.
BOWL GAME?: Hawaii Bowl.
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

Hey thanks for the link and the correction. I didn't get the memo on the Hawaii and Armed Forces Bowls which was a gaffe on my part. I had to make the following switches in my bowl projections:
New Orleans Bowl: SMU vs. Florida Atlantic
Armed Forces Bowl: Tulsa vs. TCU
Hawaii Bowl: Arizona vs. Hawaii
I think you guys will have a pretty solid team considering what June Jones did at Hawaii for his first season. I couldn't believe CFN predicting 3-9 for SMU this season and an opening game loss to Rice
