CHEERLEADERS AND BAND ONLY TRAVELING TO TWO AWAY GAMES?

Postby MUSTANG'76 » Sun Aug 24, 2008 6:59 pm

BECAUSE OF BUDGET RESTRAINTS, CHEERLEADERS AND BAND ONLY TRAVELING FOR RICE AND NAVY GAMES. HOW CAN WE NOT GET THEM TO AT LEAST TECH GAME, TULANE, UTEP?

ARE THE ALL CAPS REALLY NECESSARY?!?!?!?!

Seriously, they go to two games every year at best. No big deal IMHO. It's not like it's cheap to travel 70 people anyway - 70 flights @ $200/each, 35 hotel rooms @ $80, plus buses on site, per diem, it adds up...

Sorry about all caps, but truly cheerleaders and band make a big difference to the team. In particular in hostile stadium like TT?

Thanks.

But, um, the band and cheerleaders haven't made many of our away games since the death of the SWC. Methinks winning will bring a larger budget.

Methinks Thad updating the Dorf on Golf series will generate the income to make this happen

While JJ's salary was donated, the greatly increased marketing budget was not. So my guess it that the Athletics Department is doing everything they can to put butts in seats this season and running pretty lean everywhere else.

I think he's trying to get into American Airlines' Admiral's Club .... Probably not, I guess maybe you were right to begin with, I mean his name is Raplh for typo sakes!

Bad jokes abound. Time to call it a "posting" night, I guess.

If you don't count the TCU game, I doubt you can find many years that they made more than two trips in the last 10+ years.

Also remember that Tech did not bring its band to the game in Dallas last year. Why would we pay more than is necessary to do anything in a dump like Lubbock? It's going to be a blowout anyway...let's just go do it and get out ASAP.

Honestly I'm surprised we're going to Annapolis and not New Orleans, though.

If we all added the Diamond M Cub to our donation list for at least $100, the band might make more trips.
