No. In fact, the line opened at 6 way before the season started. Then all the big money started flowing to SMU and the line came down as a result.

never saw the line at 6, as far as i know it opened at 3. the home team is getting a little juice and will continue to do so. it wouldn't surprise if the line ended around 5 starting a freshman qb

Meh. Isn't the home team usually granted a 3 pt advantage at the end anyway, everything else being equal? Also, the line was at +3.5 before Mitchell was announced as the starter on smumustangs.com, so unless LV Sports Consultants regularly read ponyfans.com I don't think that the Mitchell-decision affected the line.
