Have to agree with most selections. Gilligan's Island, while I loved it, should most likely be in this mix. Rehashed plot involving way to finally leave island and Gilligan screwing it up somehow made it 3 seasons.

I have actually been the that Nepenthe restaurant in Big Sur, CA and must say it really does easily have the most spectacular view I have ever seen from a restaurant. You are way up high on the cliffs with trees surrounding you and a sprawling view of the coast. Good food too

Arthur Bryant's is over hyped and not even as good as most Sonny Bryant's around town and couldn't compare to the original on lemon. KC BBQ is good but does not hold a candle to what you find in the Texas Hill Country. I haven't been there in years, but I would have to agree about the view. It is stunning.

While Bryant's may be somewhat overhyped, there is absolutely nothing in Dallas that approaches the quality (and quantity) of KC BBQ. Places like Jack's Stack, Zarda, Gates, and Rosedale absolutely blow away any place in Dallas. I for one, also think that the Hill Country BBQ is incredibly overrated, and have not been impressed over the years.

BBQ Owl sounds real good right now, however.

Sonny Bryant's?!! Are you serious. Again dry meat with runny sauce. Bleh.

Lockhart (Kruez Market specifically), on the other hand, as I said has the best bbq I've every had -- and would you believe I was led there by a fellow Duke grad during Final Four weekend in San Antonio? We won't even get started on North Carolina BBQ. Pretty much bites, if you ask me.

Texas Monthly picked a place called Snow's in Lexington as #1 in Texas this year. Which means it's automatically #1 in America without even trying it.

Not unless they moved it to Texas and changed their recipe. People outside of Texas don't know squat about good barbecue, starting with which animal to kill.

Diamond M, having lived in NC I cannot agree. Eastern NC style is great, but of course this is also a pork style. I still cook the syle, and everyone knows when I'm up to it. The smoke from the hickory wafts far and wide, and I've yet to find anyone, anywhere that hasn't been impressed. As far as a beef style, TX and KC are fine, but Santa Maria style is awesome. Nothing like a good tri-tip cooked over red oak.
