As for Brandon Tittle, it looks like he might be going the wave of the Green Wave. A quote from Rivals:

"If I had to rank which teams I like in order, they would be Tulane, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, and SMU.

He has a visit to Tulane scheduled for Jan 10th.

I was browsing the list of players interested in SMU and I found OG Carroll Madison. He has yet to recieve an offer, but boasts some fair stats:

height 6-foot-2
weight 316 pounds
40-yard dash 5.2 seconds
bench max 370 pounds
squat max 545 pounds
vertical leap 27 inches
GPA 3.0
SAT 1160

He's strong for his size could translate into more lean muscle than fat. Anyone see him play? Pretty good vertical leap for a 316 pounder Image

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Russell is on our radar screen anymore.

Part of the reason for the slowdown in defensive linemen committing to schools is that the crop of players this year is relatively weak. There are some stars-in-waiting (Xavier Lawson-Kennedy, Jason Jack, Stephen Coleman, Jarvis Moss, etc.), as there are in every class, but the gap between the top guys and the next tier of guys is pretty significant. So while many schools were clamoring to get ahold of some of the top guys, many of the rest of the defensive line prospects are playing a wait-and-see kind of game. Because there is such a demand for defensive linemen, most players with any talent at all will end up getting a scholarship. But because the demand is so high, many of the players are waiting to see the full array of options.

So you're saying, Guru, that on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best) that there are a bunch of 10's and a bunch of 1's, but nothing in between?

Actually, I'm not sure there are any 10's. Players like Xavier Lawson-Kennedy are probably in the 8-9 range, and there are a lot of players in the 1-4 range. The difference is significant, but perhaps not as wide as you indicate. But essentially, you have the right idea.
