J.B. PhillipsAnyone heard anymore on him? I know we are recruiting him hard and we've offered.
Re: J.B. PhillipsI also wanted to know if anyone has heard anything on Marcus Foreman or Keevan Moore?
Re: J.B. PhillipsDMN has J.B. Phillips listed as the #65 player in the Local Area 100. Ranked on the DMN list as 3-star TE from Colleyville Heritage: 6'-3", 240, 4.67
Here is where I got the info 06... www.dallasnews.rivals.com/prosearch.asp [This message has been edited by PK (edited 12-04-2002).] SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Re: J.B. PhillipsI found Marcus Foreman - a 6-3, 210-pound DE from Hewitt (Midway HS), Texas.
Who's Keevan Moore? Position? HS? Size/speed? "What kind of weirdo school are they running over there in Fort Worth?"

Re: J.B. PhillipsDMN also has Marcus Foreman rated as a 3-star with 4.59 speed, but he was not listed on either the State or local area top 100 lists.

Re: J.B. PhillipsI read recently that Phillips still likes SMU - a lot.
Does anyone know if we've officially offered him? Fountain of youth
Giver of truth Six parts gin One part vermouth
Re: J.B. PhillipsYes, we've offered him. La Tech, Arkansas, and Iowa State had also offered him. Apparently, he was really surprised by how much he liked SMU and committed soon after he visited.
Re: J.B. PhillipsThere's not a lot of talk about Ricky Joe Meeks on this board...probably because he committed so early and hasn't been recruited by any other schools because of it. He had a lot of contact with Alabama before he chose SMU...I think Meeks could make a huge impact, moreso than Phillips. Just wanted to give him some board time, so please feel free to comment about the kid.

Chris Phillips (QB) has committed, but this thread was started in regards to J.B. Phillips (TE)...now he hasn't committed yet too has he? SMU's first president, Robert S. Re: J.B. PhillipsMy mistake. Yes, we've offered JB as well as Chris. My post was in reference to Chris though.
Re: J.B. PhillipsSMUStudent06 asked about Keevan Moore.
He's a DB from Enid, Okla. I have him listed at 5-11, 190, and 4.4 in the 40. He's a very good player, although not a blue-chipper of the highest order. He's shown interest in SMU so far, along with OU, OSU, K-State, Mizzou, and Northwestern. He's faster than he is quick, but he's also extremely strong. To the best of my knowledge, he doesn't yet have any official visits set up, although I haven't heard anything new on him in a few weeks.
Re: J.B. PhillipsTom Lemming rated Moore a 3 star recruit at the beginning of the year. Said he was 5'11", 190 lbs, and ran a 4.5 forty. "Not as well known as the top couple of RB's but after I viewed Keeven on film I had to give him 3 stars. On Film - As a junior he carried the ball 90 times for 700 yds and 12 TDs while also catching 10 passes. On defense he picked off 3 passes and deflected 8 others at FS. An exceptional athlete with outstanding football sense. He runs the sprints in track.
Grades - His GPA is over 3.0 Schools - His top 5 schools are SMU, UCLA, KS State, Northwestern, and Missouri.
Re: J.B. PhillipsKeevan would definitely be a great addition to this recruiting class:
height 5-foot-11 weight 185 pounds 40-yard dash 4.4 seconds bench max 270 pounds squat max 350 pounds vertical leap 28 inches GPA 3.2 ACT 22 Only a 28 inch vertical...how important is this for a cornerback? What other positions could he play?
