Why do I bother?

Postby Nacho » Sat Aug 30, 2008 11:11 pm

NEVER start a true freshman at QB. I told you so.

Logan for you who left early (and I don't blame you) looked good. Why is he not starting while BL learns as a redshirt? JW should be #2 as I have stated before.

Walker and Haynes should definitely be starting. They actually look like real college football players.

D was atrocious. Rice steamrolled them. Once again we looked small amd outmanned.

Did anyone scout Thor? He's pretty good. I was sitting in the stands thinking the same thing about Hammond.

Glad we are the youngest team in college football again. The cycle never ends. I wonder why.

Going to be a long year. No more road trips for me. Fool me once...

I actually disagree with the comparisons of Thor and Hammond. Gary was no where near the size of Thor, and Gary accomplished his different positions by playing one position separately for an entire year. That means he had to excel at the position consistantly rather than being able to come in and play at a given spot for one or 2 plays and then go to back to his normal position. Both are/were very good at what they do and I would like to have either on my team, but I vote for Hammond as the better all around athlete for his ability to master 3 different positons and being named all conference each year while playing a completley different position.

Act tough all you want, but that was a seriously crybaby-ish thing to say. You went to support your team and they lost - it happens. I was joking on the game thread about how glad I was I didn't go, but if I had gone I wouldn't be crying and saying how I'd never go to another one. I was at Rice 2 years ago and if we weren't expecting a baby any day now I would have been there for this one.

It's part of being a fan.

youre joking right? LT was put in against 3rd and 4th string guys who might not ever see PT again for Rice this year. you could have inserted anyone that can throw a ball more than 25 yards in during garbage time of a blowout and they can do what LT did. not trying to say he didnt do good but you can say he did better than BLM just because of that 1 TD in garbage time

Totally different. Lance was probably the No. 1 Option QB in his Class in this part of the Country-if not the Country. DMN Blue Chip ie Top 15 player in Texas. SMU needed to switch from a wide open passing game to a running game to feature Dickerson and James. Mike Ford weighed conservatively 250 to 255 and had a leg surgery making him even more immobile. I don't see any McIllhenny's, Dickerson's or James necessitating this decision. Bo Levi isn't one of the Top 15 QBs in Texas.

So someone will call me a big fat crybaby, that's why. Just because I refuse to go to any more away games. Ever. Good luck to the saps who go to TT.

Well boo hoo. Where's the candy?

I may be big and fat and I may cry, so what. I'm saying we go 1-11 after our victory over the Bobcats who blasted Angelo St.

We need fans - not wannabe bandwaggoners. Sounds like you're more interested in being one of the latter.

What have the Mustangs done for me lately--zip, zero, nada

BTW trophies and hugs after the game Saturday

OK, just my 2 cents but the OL did decent. They will be better by mid season. The QB is well, should be better by mid season. So will the WRs. It is a work in transition.

Could be worse. Could be like the Hawaii offense right now.

So the defense. Nobody expected much. So don't expect much.

JJ always builds the offense first.

You can get a winning season faster with a good offense.

The OL looked decent.
