What is wrong with our defense? Was Rice that good?

We lack the athletic ability that one might expect at a D1 school
It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!

have you not been watching SMU football over the last 5-10 years?
Our D has ALWAYS been one of the key problems. They cant hit, cant tackle, cant penetrate, cant intercept passes, cant stay with their WRs, cant execute.

Why didn't Thompson play-not listed on the participation chart. Shocking to me. I think he is physically ready to play and I don't say that too often about SMU's true Freshmen.

I see Thompson as more of a situational player for the time being. I would think we could use a 6-6 kid who runs a 4.46 and has the physical strength to play as a freshman in pass rushing situations. Couldn't hurt much. I see about 59 players on the traveling squad with a lot less talent.

Stallion. Where can I find the participation chart? Is it on SMUmustangs.com?

The D is weak but I thought the dropped picks were the keys to the game. Easy situations that just weren't taken advantage of.
Would have made a huge diffence in the game.
The D squad has to capitalize on those types of opportunities to make up for their obvious weaknesses.

surely we have good enough athletes on the defensive side of the ball to shut down Texas State. Dare I have expectations of a win in the home opener?
I just hope more than 15,000 show up !

There should not be. I see players listed with just one unassisted tackle. If Evan should be listed, I do not know to whom you should complain. He does show up as being a participant.
