Debuts To Boo
Mike Sherman (10), Texas A&M. It's bad to lose your opener to a so-so Sun Belt Conference team. It's really bad to be outplayed in the process. Arkansas State outgained the Aggies by more than 100 yards, committed three fewer turnovers, shut out A&M over the final 34-plus minutes of the game and allowed no running play of longer than 13 yards. How the rest of the season looks: dicey, in a very strong Big 12. If it improves in the coming weeks, A&M could go 5-7.
....
June Jones (13), SMU. The Mustangs' defense was really bad last year -- but it never gave up 56 points the way it did to Rice in Jones' first game. How the rest of the season looks: not a whole lot better than last year's 1-11.

Besides that he hates smu, can you point to any factual errors in his assessment after the Week 1 performance?

Well he blamed the defense, which certainly had issues but the offense, which he did not condemn, was largely responsible for 28 points after yielding 145 yards on a fumble and 3 ints.

No, he would have changed QBs after the first int.

Good thing he isn't coaching UCLA...
He would have run out of QB's.

Why is it that you have to damn other's if they don't have anything concretely positive to say about SMU? I don't believe that there is a group of people outside of the SMU alumni base that really spends time out of their day trying to bash us!
Unfortunately, past performance has been indicative of our future results. The people that are hurting some of your feelings just haven't been drinking the kool-aid. All they have is proof that nothing in the way of results has really changed.
I'm sure they would change their tone if we started winning...but that's about all it would take.
