Rivals has him listed as having signed a LOI. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
I saw that after you posted the info in a thread a couple weeks back. However, I am not certain that means he is on scholarship. Rivals also lists Duke Biggers, who I am certain was a recruited walk-on and not on scholarship, in 2002 . It is also possible that Alex Craft, listed in that same class, was not a scholarship player either.
I'm pretty sure this is like the 5 walkons who got scholarships for Football-SMU gave them a scholarship for 1 year because they are under the 13 and 85 Man Scholarship limitations for THIS YEAR due to attrition. All scholarships are one year renewable-I wouldn't assume they would be renewed if better athletes come around.
Who has seen pick-up? I'm very encouraged about Justin Haynes' mile time. That means he's fully recovered from his injury that forced him out of last season. That said, can the kid be the legit 2G we need?
Also, I think the 2 new PGs will put a few points up. W/mike Walker playing combo, I think he'll drop a few more bombs. Alex Malone is the most gifted volume scorer on the team. If he's worked on getting to the hoop, drawing some contact and finishing, he'll be a rounded offensive weapon. He could easily be a double digit scorer. “When I first committed to SMU, I thought it would take a couple of years of building. But with these players coming in, we should make a run. We have a lot of heavy hitters. It could get real ugly for a lot of teams we play.â€- Jalen Jones

So, there may be an agreement that financial aid is only for this year, or future aid is based on how much he plays this year, etc. So, you'd only have to kick one guy off the team to sign the 3 man class you want. Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.
Don't know if there's anything official floating around on the net, but he is on scholarship now (due to Dubois' departure).
I think, with a good PG, coach Doh can start running his quick-pace game. It's very important for Carolina to run and coach Doh knows this system well. It must start with speedy & good decision-making PG. Now, he has his wish so everyone else needs to catch up.
