Bennett vs. Rice and teams like TSU (I could go into more detail, but it's obvious SMU doesn't want us to see how much better bennett faired in his 1st 2 seasons)
A comparison
2005:
27-7 win over rice
2006:
31-27 loss to rice (team never quit)
SHSU (ranked in FBS) 45-14 SMU win
2007:
43-42 loss (team never quit
Jones Era:
56-27 loss to Rice (team quit with almost half of the game left)
Defense allowed 36 points and I'd rather not know how many yards against piddly little TSU.
Unfortunately, this can't be proven, but I guarantee you Bennett's team this year would've beaten rice in a close one and dismantled TSU.
Don't know about you guys, but I'd rather kill the little guys and lose with some dignity. Coach Jones isn't worth the money and never will be. Can his [deleted] and let's move on. Look what rice is doing spending nothing on their program...(performing better than us)
The AD jumped the gun on this one. This was the season we were going to see bennett return us to glory. Good job naysayers. Get ready to never have a defense and the AD never firing Jones because we kissed too much [deleted] w/ our tongue out to get him. It's one thing to lose trying to do things the right way. It's another to make a complete mockery of college football, pay for a coach your school doesn't deserve and still look like the worst team in college football.

You probably should have remained silent, at least for long enough to post something that wasn't rambling and full of nonsensical cursing.
There is no way you can guaranty that Bennett would have beaten Rice @ Rice. If he couldn't do it with a bowl on the line two years ago, it is highly unlikely that he could have done it this year.

Coach Bennett, it's nice to have you back, but shouldn't you be preparing for the Iowa game?

Bennett couldn't beat Rice in Houston with a bowl game on the line, with an experienced QB and a more talented D.

he had some experience. but not much. it was enough though considering the Rice game was the last game of the year that year Willis first played

Yeah, but it was the last game of the season, so he had more experience than BLM has at this point.

But he did come away with a nice arm sling. I hear Houston has the best around.

Being a rook, I really am uninformed about this, but who is responsible for recruiting the alleged players on the "D"?
My first guess would be PB!

I think you are probably more than a little accurate in your assesment.
Coach Jones didn't have that much time to recruit players, and a majority of them are PB's guys.
