Theft on the Blvd.Had all our coolers stolen while at the game. The group next to us had all their charis stolen.
Found one of the coolers (the one without any alcohol in it) open and abandoned about 100 yards from our tailgate. My money is on SMU students. Looks like it happened during the fourth quarter, probably a bunch of frat punks on the way back to the house after the game. Kind of put a damper on an otherwise great day. Happens again, someone gets punched in the throat. Derail the Frogs!
Im sorry to hear that Junior. Dont want to wish ill fate on the people that got away with them but heres to them have alcohol poisoning for drinking your beer
OH THE HUMANITY!!! Seriously, not cool. I am sorry for your loss. Will there be a service? "Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid." John Wayne

For what it is worth, I had to leave the game at about the start of the 4th, and once I could I went to the blvd to listen to someone's radio broadcast of the game. I noticed one of the employees picking up trash pick up a bag from my tent area (about 4 spots down from where I was listening to the game) and go through it. It didn't have anything in it, and for all I know he could have been checking to see if it was really a trash bag, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
Re: Theft on the Blvd.I can guarantee you it wasn't the ATOs.
Nothing formal, but I did pour some out for my homies when I cracked open the first one. Derail the Frogs!

Or the Betas. Derail the Frogs!
I can't help but wonder about two things. Ole Miss has been doing The Grove for over 20 years. How do they...
-Get folks to leave to get to the stadium for the Kickoff? -Police the area to reduce or eliminate theft. We got the idea from them when we went to Oxford back in '97. I would hope we could do some (and I hate to use this term - please forgive me.) benchmarking with them to help make our BLVD even better. It appeared to us most of their folks simply left everything and went to the stadium well before kickoff. Their cars are too far away to take things to lock up. They then resumed the party after the game. Long live Thomas Sowell!
It is time to make a complaint to the campus police. They can start adjusting officer assignments and/or direct some to the security guard staff to take charge of the Blvd and prevent this type of behavior. It only takes a few minutes for security personnel to get a clear picture of who belongs where and what is not right. Chances are it was students who left early and who were looking for some more beer.
You know their response is going to be put your stuff in your car. There is NO way the smu pd will assign officers to watch anyone's stuff while it just sits there on the blvd. You could hire your own yellowjacket if you wanted. It tastes better when served from a Bowl (game)!
How could they possibly police the area? If two guys walk up and grab a cooler, how can they officers know if it is theirs or not? I've brought a cooler to a tailgate before that wasn't my tailgate. How could I prove I was taking my cooler off the boulevard vs. stealing it?
People are going to have lock up their stuff somehow. An unlocked footlocker? If it weren't for people like you, there wouldn't be any thievery in this world would there? ![]()
While there might have been more of your "frat punks" at the game last night than usual. Since the advent of televised SMU games they tend to wander back to their houses where they can continue the boulevard festivities rather than even arrive at the stadium, much less hang around until the 4th quarter. As already posted, it would be dificult for security to ID someone stealing a cooler from someone leaving with their own.
