Didn't hear it announced, and can't seem to find it.
However, ESPN did have this: "The Jones era -- hyped locally as "June Cometh" -- opened with a 29-point loss at Rice. That downer, plus the unimpressive foe, drew a paltry crowd, many of them arriving late and many others leaving early."
"Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid." John Wayne
"Context clues and common sense can take you a long way in life." Anthony Cann

Not bad. More than I expected. Get some defense and maybe we can get to 25k.

Isn't that one of the bigger crowds we have had when we have not played a "rent-a-fan" attendance game like Texas Tech or Oklahoma State? The bigger question is what will attendance be after the [deleted] kicking SMU will get out in Lubbock next weekend.

A little more than tonight. More purple than I'll care to see.

Haven't seen a student section that big for a while.
Well at least before the normal student section type crowd returned at half time (woo for everyone leaving)

No. As usual, it was a pretty quiet crowd for an SMU game.

I thought it was actually pretty loud for at least a recent SMU game.

The TSU fans/students/band were louder than the SMU fans.

That doesn't disprove that the crowd was actually getting into it (from what I saw) this game.
At least in the first half.
Second half, TX State actually woke up and didn't turn the ball over so obviously they're going to be louder.

very similar to the UNT game last year
have to hope we don't get totally humiliated at Tech next week and that all the SMU fans (plus some) come out for the TCU game. TCU should bring as many or more than Texas State so I would expect something close to 25-26k for that one
