Not after early in the second quarter, when the student section started to empty. That was pitiful.High Horse wrote:While there might have been more of your "frat punks" at the game last night than usual.

Sadly thats life in the big city. We learned the hard way too. Our beer chest was stolen awhile back. Beer & gear has to be either locked up or a "designated tent sitter" must be at your spot. With quite a few people that prefer to stay out on the Blvd, it shouldn't be too tough to find/bribe/hire someone to stay at your spot to eat, drink, visit, and watch the stuff.

At least then you can describe the person that stole your stuff.

Mrydel, that Blvd yesterday was crazy and we hardly got to visit with you. At one point about 6PM the Blvd appeared almost impassable there were so many people. It was almost like trying to pass by the concession stands in Moody at halftime of a big game. Can you imagine what the Blvd scene will be like once we start winning?

Hopefully it will empty out some due to people going to the game.
It was great however. Got to see Jtstang and remind him where my seats are. BUS, XTC, The Judge, MustangBill, et al at the BUS Stop and got to meet FW Girl and Guy, Pony Love, Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell and many others. Also was able to visit with others from my SMU days, and even from my Georgetown, Texas days. It is always a good time on the Blvd.

After the game? Ha! At halftime - "frat punks" never stay until the 3rd quarter.

Found one of the coolers (the one without any alcohol in it) open and abandoned about 100 yards from our tailgate.
My money is on SMU students. Looks like it happened during the fourth quarter, probably a bunch of frat punks on the way back to the house after the game.
Kind of put a damper on an otherwise great day.
Happens again, someone gets punched in the throat.
I totally appreciate your anger and frustration, but it is ridiculous to show your obvious bias and accuse "frat punks" for the theft. I guess I forgot that all non-Greeks and Dallas citizens unaffiliated with SMU are completely honorable and would never touch your things. It had to be fraternity guys. The boulevard was packed and is easily accesible from all sides for all kinds of undesirables to make a move for people's things. The odds are it was someone not affiliated with SMU who had a strategy to steal.
Again, it completely blows that someone would take your stuff and they should definitely get a violent punch to the throat and die a slow death, but your accusation appears to be born of some bitterness or judgment towards fraternity members, and I think that is misguided.
Let the floodgates open on bashing fraternities...
Let me explain something to you. I am not "Mr. Lebowski". You're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me.
I hate to sound preachy here, but I don't leave my coolers out when I go tailgating at Redskins games. Why would you leave your coolers out, filled with BEER unguarded? That's like waiving a candy bar in front of Oprah. Stash the stuff back into your car and pull them out after the game or have a designated drunk watch the booze during the game.

Always a good time on the 'Vard. Kudos to Special Delivery for the cold beer on hand (Mark, I'll always remember your name now, I'll chalk up the misnomer to my fascination with Thad's tequila habit) and also to mrydel who introduced me to Arkpony. As a lawyer it is my duty to kiss the @sses of all members of the judiciary, current and retired.
Double kudos to the hot chicks. Stallion is right--we should promote the 'vard first and foremost as the reason to come to an SMU game, at least until the team catches up.

Hmmm. Then it may not have been frat punks after all. Not sure why I even threw that term out, considering that I was one of them.
Anyway, the cooler they abandoned had a bag of ice on top that didn't look like it had melted at all. Had to have happened around Q4 at the latest.
Oh well, probably a good thing. I find it hard to believe that I "needed" any more beer that evening.
