Watch Out For SJSU....The Spartans just got a commitment from 5 Star JUCO All-American and former TCU recruit Tyson Thompson. This goes along with the 5 super JUCOs who I believe were all 4 Stars last year. SJSU had 5 players on a recent JUCO Alumni All-American List more than any other team in America. Remember this was the team picked last in the WAC last year that was surprisingly competitive last year. If memory serves me they now have a great passing QB in Rislov, a great running game with Thompson and one of the Top Receivers in the WAC whose name escapes me.

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: Watch Out For SJSUSan Jose also has the WAC's program "most vulnerable" to demotion to I-AA under the NCAA's new attendance rules, so it sounds like they are making a serious bid to compete and protect their status as I-A. More important than recruiting and signing those guys, I'm sure the other part of their commitment is that they will find a way to make and keep all those guys academically eligible. San Jose needs to turn things around and qualify for the Silicon Valley Bowl if that bowl is going to survive.
Re: Watch Out For SJSUThompson didn't qualify academically for TCU, if I remember correctly, and then when he was being recruited out of JUCO this year, he didn't get accepted to Nebraska, which is the school he'd targeted as his top choice this time around. Are we sure he can get into San Jose?
HOORAY, BEER!
Re: Watch Out For SJSUProbably, I remember reading a post last year about SJSU being particualrly effective at keeping players eligible...
Although if you're too stupid to not make TCU's squad, that kid shouldn't be allowed out of his house. "It's a couple hundred million dollars. I'm not losing sleep over it." -- David Miller

That, my friend, is hysterical. And accurate. (Remember, this is the rocket scientist who got in trouble after he committed or signed with TCU for stealing barbells from his high school. I'm guessing he can use the same number for his SAT score, his ACT score and his IQ, and it's not a big number.) This guy ranks up there with John Smoltz, who once burned himself ironing a shirt WHILE HE WAS STILL WEARING IT, or Marty Cordova, who missed a game this year because he torched himself in a tanning booth. I'm a Pony, and I'm a PonyFan!
