Yeah because it's not like we went from bottom of the Big XII to pre-season top 15 team within 6 years. You're blinded by hate for Tech.
Last I checked, top 25 teams do pretty well recruiting good players.

Emphasis on "pre". You'll end up flopping, as always. Trust me, we know all about disappointment - it's coming for you too this year.

And you will struggle to live up to the pre-season C-USA West rankings.

If you believe our Defense was bad on Saturday night, you probably did absolutely no research and I don't blame you because the Tech-Nevada game is pretty irrelevant to SMU fans.
Re-read my post, TTU fan. I never said that the TTU defense was bad on Saturday night. I simply said that Nevada has a decent offense that actually works. Never did I make a statement one way or the other about the TTU defense.

Wow, I quoted the wrong person. Sorry about that. It was intended for the original poster. Again, sorry about that.

Nah, it's OK. I understand that certain buttons on this board are in different places than they are on other boards.
Good luck to you guys this season, except this Saturday.
Yeah, Tech is really good at beating up on the SMU's of the world or playing spoiler VS. Texas but they fold like cheap tents when it really counts (ie. they have a chance to win the big 12 themselves).
At this point I think most Tech fans are not sure what we've got this year. The first game we looked great in spots (21-0 lead after the 1st qtr), but not so great in others (gave up a lot of yards passing, 18 penalties). But, after last week, it appears that EWU was a pretty decent team. Then, at Nevada, the defense, while giving up a lot of yards, won the game for us by holding Nevada to FGs after being put in bad field position a lot (twice by Leach 's boneheaded decisions to go for it on 4th down). Our O really struggled; Harrell probably had his worst game as a Raider, for sure his worst game that we won. There is some speculation on our boards that Harrell was injured, because he threw the ball so poorly. The good news was that we won a game where our O struggled against a pretty fair opponent on the road, a game we would have lost in past years. Everyone is expecting our O to return to form this week. Our D is better, how much better we don't know yet. We don't need a shut down D to compete for the Big 12 championship; just a D that doesn't give up 40-50 ppg.
