Weather in LubbockAnybody think the hurricane will have any negative effects on the game this weekend?
you speak no better truth... We are road tripping it this time around with a couple long time friends of mine. I will have to start drinking early since both of them are Tech fans. I think I am more excited about getting Friday off from work than the actual drive.
I don't know about the weekend, but i was just out west and it was pouring rain from del rio to odessa (at least that was the drive i took).
should be done by saturday i would imagine. Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally
It has been raining out here all week and this weekend, West Texas and the South Plains are suppose to catch the leftovers of Hurrican Ike. Can't play golf and the rain has chased all the dove away. All in all a bad week.
PONY UP!
Anyone know if they are thinking about moving up the start of the game? They may be able to avoid the weather if they move the kickoff to 12 or 2.

Any Lubbock weather should not be more than some rain and maybe wind of up to 30-35mph. Football games are played in that type of weather all the time. We had all of the games in Arkansas played last week with Gustav sitting on top of us. Granted the crowds were much smaller than desired, but the games went on.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Thats true... But I am pretty sure that Tech wants a full stadium with lots of concessions sold. Keep in mind that with these two teams the game could last 5 hrs. Thats a lot of food and sodas(mixers) sold. If an earlier start time means more fans and $$$ they may move it. "I'm a little different than your normal Texas coach, but I get it done, and we win."
Re: Weather in Lubbock
I guess they don't teach geography at SMU. It would have to be a hurricane a lot bigger than Katrina to feel any real affects that far west. The weather will be great. Instead of the sticky nights you enjoy in Dallas, you will enjoy a cool breeze in Jones. Ford = hot, sticky, miserable September games. Jones = cool, pleasant September games. ![]()
Re: Weather in Lubbock
Welcome on the Band Wagon RHS, another fan of June! I hope all of his September games are as pleasant has his first one.
Re: Weather in Lubbock
Guess they don't teach Red Raiders how to check the forecast which is rain for the next week. And by the way, remnants of a hurricane are generally felt for many states beyond the actual hit. The only thing pleasant about Lubbock is leaving it. Pony Up!
Re: Weather in Lubbock
Guess they don't understand Meteorology in Red Raider Land... The storm is over 200 miles wide and is expected to track right over Lubbock. Than again, they probably haven't heard cause TV/Internet is still at least 10 years away. "I'm a little different than your normal Texas coach, but I get it done, and we win."
