Maybe not. The whole point is he didn't play, so speculating that Mitchell played better than Willis would have is nonsense.
I agree that speculating about BLM vs. JW is non-sense, but regardless of who QB'ed, our Defense was steam-rolled by Rice.
IMO we have not had a QB in the past 20 years that could have beaten Rice 2 weeks ago...not with our D's perfornance that night.

In fact, Justin DID in an almost identical situation outperform Mitchell's performance against D1AA competition. Baylor's true freshman QB outperformed Mitchell against similar competition as well. Get this-there was no rush, Robinson was running 6-8 yards away from his defender and Sanders couldn't be covered either. Its not a true test-these weren't D1A quality players-he'll get the opportunity to prove himself in the next 2 games against real competition. Details on the most "accurate" passing QB performance in SMU History.

Oh, don't get me wrong. In case you haven't been reading lately, I am concerend about the defense. And I am well aware that Willis only overcame the defense once last year.

I know, jt. But we can use our knowlege of college football to come up with a speculation. I find it fairly convincing that Willis would not have done better -- which is shocking to me given my prediction prior to the season. Out of respect for others' opinions on this board, I am asking for their thoughts on that very specific question that to this point has been avoided.
Would Willis have done better? I find it hard to believe he would have.

I already told you I disagree wih your assessment, and I am the only other person who who posts on this board. I knew I could not keep up the ruse forever.
Ponyboy has now made the exact same post about 15 times in this same thread-hoping no beggin' for some one to agree. Then when someone answers his question-he asks the same one again. ASKED AND ANSWERED. Move on-your boring and offer ZERO insight. I'm "fairly convinced" you're proven over and over not to know what you are talking about.

Logan is, without a doubt, the best passer in the program. I don't understand why he is not "THE MAN."
Look for Bo to have trouble on the high plains. This ain't Texas State. This is the BIG 12. The QB will have to be disciplined on his reads or he will get eaten alive. Disciplined reads is not Bo's strength.
This will be the game that Turner will have the chance to prove himself as a gamer! The Springtown Slinger to the rescue!

And, although your reading comprehension leaves a lot to be desired, you do know what you're talking about. Which is why I've asked the question that you've still refused to answer. Remembering the valued characteristics of a Run and Shoot QB, do you think Justin Willis would have done a better job than Bo Levi Mitchell in June Jones' offense to this point?
Poinyboy's 16th Post asking the same question-Yay!
I answered the damn question-you didn't like the answer. Willis as a freshman was 18-19 with 5 TDs against similar competition in an offense LESS conducive to the passing game. The Baylor true freshman went something like 16-20 with 3 TDs against similar competition. D1A DBs generally can't run with these receivers and the stats are exaggerrated. He'll get his chance in the next 9 days to prove himself.
Who was that SMU RB who ran for 240 yards against Cal-San Jose St Dominquez (not Charles) but struggled for much of his career. Same thing.
