I don't like the answer because it doesn't hold water. Here's what you're missing. The run and shoot has certain requirements of the quarterback --- greater accuracy, quicker release, ability to read defenses on the run, ability to adjust to receivers who are actively changing their routes. Willis had none of this to be concerned with, at least not to the same degree, in the previous offense. So it's apples and oranges.

seriously why don't you just shut up. You gave the answer you wanted in the initial question-you've shown over and over that you believe everything the SMU Sports Information Department and Mustang Club brochure puts out. Enjoy the next two weekends.

So you're saying that Joe Montana couldn't play in the R&S because he was a West Coast QB.

I answered the damn question-you didn't like the answer. Willis as a freshman was 18-19 with 5 TDs against similar competition in an offense LESS conducive to the passing game. The Baylor true freshman went something like 16-20 with 3 TDs against similar competition. D1A DBs generally can't run with these receivers and the stats are exaggerrated. He'll get his chance in the next 9 days to prove himself.

Who was that SMU RB who ran for 240 yards against Cal-San Jose St Dominquez (not Charles) but struggled for much of his career. Same thing.

probably was shanderrick (sp?) if you're talking about the last 15 years...

I think that might have been Kincade. He had a 98 yard run and lost a fumble on the 1.

I was really talking about that game we played with California-Earthquake U.. Wasn't it Northridge or something when we scored 58 points. Throw out the stats against that level of opposition.

You are correct sir. But I contend that Kincade has the longest run from scrimmage, without scoring, AND longest run from scrimmage without scoring and without ending up with the ball, and it is longer than Briggs' run.

I want to say it was Nevada in about 2002 or 2003. And if I recall correct ( I may not) I believe it was the first game we actually ran the swinging gate (by that I mean ran the 2 point conversion try) and were unsuccessful. I think we lost by 1 or 2 points.

Just like Cal State Fullerton - They both got the death penalty permanently! :D

You need to relax. I know you said it wasn't Charles but no one else has had close to 240 yards except for Charles.

I'm showing Kris Briggs to have gotten 137 yards and 4 td's against Northridge...
