New \"Big Time\" Recruits

The Texas affiliate of Rivals-TheUniversity.com has come out with its New Texas Top 100. Just about all the big time Texas recruits we have coming in this weekend made the Top 100. But the BEST news is that 3 kids who I never knew were considering SMU now list us among their final 3 or 4. RB Ronald Simmons of Dallas Smith had an awesome senior year with over 1900 yards-I think he was the DMN Offensive Player of The Year? He is ranked No. 60 in Texas-"As Good between the tackles as anyone". Considering CSU, GT, SMU and TCU. No. 65 WR Rashard Turner of Marshall considering SMU, TCU and Bay. No. 96 Ath Dominique Ziegler Kileen Harker Heights considering SMU, OSU, Bay. Bennett seems to be gaining in recruiting as the season goes on. I wonder if they are coming in this weekend?

Turner is an excellent receiver. He could be as good as Tyrell Gatewood.

Insiders gives Simmons (5-11, 185, 4.4) a "Super Prospect" ranking. He is (or was previously) committed to Iowa State. Insiders calls him
a "great running back" and ranks him as a 3-star.

Rashad Turner (6-0, 180) also got a "Super Prospect" ranking from Insiders.

This would mean this class would have 3 guys named Turner?

Simmons sounds like a very talented guy, and it's always nice to start taking guys from Big 12 teams.

But do we need another RB at this point? Kincade, ShanD, Barnett, Young, Fitzgerald, Massey, FTurner - do we have room for more?

Unless Coach Bennett is thinking about moving someone to another position? Best athlete available - that kind of thing?

now let me see-you have a chance at the No. 50 Player in the State but you don't take him because of a walkon and the last player to get a scholarship in the state of Texas last year. Move them. THE BEST ATHLETES IN HS ARE ALWAYS THE QBs and RBs. They can play IB, FB, IR, WR, CB, FS, SS, KR, PR or LB and definitely on special teams. This is a no brainer.
