Todd Dodge?

Post by Dwan »

Is he getting paid to coach or take a dump on the sidelines? I can't tell.

I can think of a few people who want to know the answer to your question a lot more than you do...

Are they losing patience with him up in Denton already?

It's too early to judge him. But I thought he made a mistake taking the UNT job. I thought the path for him was to go to Texas and become the QB coach, eventually replace Greg Davis as offensive coordinator and if everything was working well, he would become Mack Brown's successor.

I've talked with too many Carroll people who said the same thing and thought he took the wrong path. He got too eager and let his ego more than his common sense dictate this move.

No doubt Dodge did everything in HS that he could, but moving to college as a high profile assistant to be groomed as a college head coach would have been better.

That's the path Todd Graham when he left Allen to join Rich Rodriguez at West Virginia. Now, he's got a good thing going at Tulsa.

I don't think it is too early to judge. He is 13 games into his career and that program is clearly worse off than they were when Dickey was there.

No it is clearly in better shape than it was when he took over. Best recruiting class by far in decades. Takes 4-5 years to build a program like SMU or NTSU. I've only counted to 1 so far. By your definition SMU's program is in worse shape since we lost to Rice by 28(instead of in the last minute) and only beat a D1A team by 11 instead of 40 or so we beat Sam Houston)

yea, JJ is quality. Glad we didn't seek out TD just because he was the king of north texas high school football. JJ is varsity. TD is freshman team.

yep the same confidence I showed in Todd Graham and Turner Gill BEFORE they were successful too. Sit back and watch them build their programs. I know the exact same words were used by several people when I spoke about Todd Graham.
