I share Stallions concern for this play. The quick slant to the inside receiver killed us last year. That was TT's check during a blitz. Two things need to improve for SMU. One, disguse the blitz better and two play tighter on the receiver. To play tighter we need a very good athlete. Wed may have that person this year. The blitz schemes need to be disguised better and mixed up. We are playing a good QB that will be hard to fool but obvious blitzes will be handing him cake.

You only need to disguise a blitz if you actually use it. Since I havent seen us blitz a single time this year, we are either not using it, or disguising it much to well. Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.
that play about sums up the deficiency of our defense. Make that tackle and it's a whopping 3 yard gain. For 20 years, it seems we've been just a step slower than our competition
they'll be successful on that play and others in the seams of the defense whether we blitz or not-remember Robert Johnson's 15 catches on the same type of play last time SMU played in Lubbock. SMU is not very strong with athletic pass defnders in the center of the field which is where they will attack.
Will our players be yelling "all out" when they are going to blitz?
