We WERE in this same position LAST WEEK at the 1 yard line as time was running out. We COULD have pushed another TD in, but chose to have some Class . . .

Craig Swann's head basically almost exploded.
Because he thought his brand new corner coming off an injury might have had an interception or the pass was incomplete......I'm not sure I'd want to play for a coach that mails it in. I like my coaches to coach the WHOLE game. Even coach the backups.

Interesting take. So, if I am reading it correctly, you would like to play for a coach that keeps going for the jugular, no matter what the score is.

I tend to agree with this statement. To paraprahse Stallion, don't get mad, get good and get even.

And on top of that, the only reason we threw the ball was because they were callling timeout to stop the clock.
typed: "Mike Leach Sportsmanship" into Google and my computer threatened to commit suicide. buuut....the 2nd article i found was from Lubbock Online went a little something like this
Also, why does there seem to be so little discipline this year with Tech, both on the field and off? Players stabbed, players kicked off the team, players suspended, players diving in the end zone and players taunting other teams' fans? Does this not fall on coach Leach? What has happened to sportsmanship and class at Tech?
[quote="mrydelBut after they were stopped, and there were 20 seconds left, the clock running and well within the 40 second clock, class does not run another play.[/quote]
I have no doubt he ran another play to try and cover the spread. This was discussed on talk radio quite a bit this week, how its taboo, but exists. Basically, the jist was "any coach who says he doesn't know the spread is lying, all coaches realize their big boosters also bet on the games and they want to cover the spread"
I had no problem with it, besides, it was satisfying to keep them out at the end, especially since I had some coin on SMU
