LB Avery Cleveland commits to Ponies! Actually he is planning to commit on Tuesday Nite visit but he says his mind is made up. Cleveland is the No 58 player in Texas-actually our highest rated recruit yet. BTW he also said SMU was "tight" just like Steptoe said. This is my new favorite word!

....listen to these stats on Cleveland-in the first 3 games of the year he had 36 tackles and 26 of them were behind the line of scrimage. At one time had offers from Colorado, A&M, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas among others.

Everything I have read about this guy is awesome. This is a great haul for SMU if he indeed commits. If we keep the current class and add him this weekend, I think we are on the verge of a top 40 recruiting class. What do you think, Stallion?

The player from Bryan, if he switches to us, is a FABULOUS player. He went to the same HS as my cousin (who was a former kicker at A&M). He says that guy is a super stud. Surely there are enough people in Aggieland to say poor things about Mackovic and good things about Bennett to switch him to SMU from U of A.

Is Cleveland another fast LB? I like this group of LBs. with Cleveland & Muse (assuming he ends up at LB) on the outside and Hall in the middle. If they all show up on signing day, the future looks good in the middle of the Mustang "D"

Avery Cleveland is extremely fast. If in fact he does commit (I haven't yet been able to confirm it), this is a stellar pickup for the Ponies.

there seems to be a pattern developing with SMU's most hearlded recruits since the DP

I'm willing to take our chances by recruiting many, many more guys who look to be promising prospects.
