Lay off Bo LeviModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Lay off Bo LeviTech was his third college game. Not every int is his fault. How many dropped passes for tds have we seen this year? The qb and the whole team is progressing towards learning the new systems. This team is starting to turn it around even though you did not see its best in Lubbock. The team is the youngest in the country which will improve each week. I predict good things will happen once conference play starts and the team will continue to improve and impress.
Re: Lay off Bo Levi
Which ones weren't again? As I recall they were all poorly thrown passes. I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
Re: Lay off Bo Levi
Yeah yeah yeah. SMU's been the youngest team in the country every year for the last 20 years. Don't tell me about the labor pains, show me a da#n baby.
I think most have treated Mitchell -with kid gloves. I don't think he should take an inordinate amount of criticism-I don't think he should be in there at all. This is a Coaching decision-and Jones deserves to be judged posiitively or negatively based on his decision.. I'm not surprised Mitchell is throwing Ints-that's what true freshman do. (except for Baylor's true freshman with ZERO picks-but then again he is one of the best athletes in the Country)).
I agree with Stallion, JJ has his own agenda and one is he can make anyone a QB, even a true freshman. There's no way BLM should be playing right now, and I don't care how tough the kid is or what he says to the media, his confidance has to be taking a beating, as well as the teams confidence in him.
All I've ever said about the guy is that I do not see what Jones sees in him based on his performances to date.
But to come on here and say the int's weren't his fault is crazy. I cannot think of one where that is true. Even the tipped balls that went for int's were badly thrown. I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
And don't forget to throw an INT when you can run for at least 15 yds untouched.
Deer caught in the headlights... anyone? SMU - IT'S YOUR TURN
FIRE JUNE JONES ![]() USC Trojan for Life and SMU Dad!

I agree lay off BLM. As for your Question - At 18 - I was a Virginia Cavs fan - rooting for Shawn Moore and Herman Moore - pre SMU days. I have changed my tune though and now support teams that have not been in a bowl game for a combined 50 years (SMU and Vanderbilt).
LAY OFF? Are you kidding? This is college football!!!! Not Peewee!! Not middle school!!!!! Not high school! This is D1 college football. It is about winning. WInning now! If one is not getting the job done, then put someone else in! It is not about saving someone's feelings. It is about production.
Yep...Bo lit up Texas State College for the Blind Women. Who couldn't? Maybe BLM will prove to be a great gamer in the future, but what is there to lose by giving someone else a shot (other than a pile of interceptions!)? I mean a chance...not mop up role!!! There is one QB who drove for a score against Tech at home while the TTU defense was trying to preserve a shutout! Numbers pretty? Nope, but they get better considering at least one wrong route and 2-3 drops. the only number that counts is the "6" that he jammed in the face of the Tech defense. Spare BLM's feelings? Lighten up? Give me a friggin break! I want to see some progress! So let's wait another week and 4-5 interceptions later and a 40 point deficit and put someone else in to "see what he can do." PUKE! If it ain't football, it ain't a sport!
Are you 100 percent that you know that's the case? But then again, this is a chat board where wild speculation is acceptable. I'm not worked up either way about the QB situation here. It is what it is. When you start a freshmen, you're on a roller coaster. 4-8.
It is not like there were no interceptions and fumbles from the qb last year. This ain't pee-wee football where everyone gets equal playing time. There was apparently a qb competition in practice and JJ said the best performer would start. JJ even admitted that there would be growing pains playing a true freshman but he made the decision based on the most upside. JJ has won in the NFL, USFL, and in college. JJ has coached in more big games than most of our past post-death penatly head coaches combined. What sorry desk job do you have again that makes you qualified to make qb decisions?
I am going to keep saying it. In Jones' offense, the WR is required to make reads based on the defensive alignment. There are very few audibles. The receivers are required to think. I don't presume to know what all those reads are on any given play. However, there were several passes in the Tech and Rice games that were thrown to no man's land. That tells me the WR was not where the QB was expecting him to be. Now whether that was the QB's fault or the WR's fault, I don't know. But am almost certain Zimmerman screwed up once in the Rice game that resulted in a pick-6. There are other examples, too. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Just let June do what he needs to do. It's a brand new system, brand new players, etc. Now if this is going on 3-yrs down the road, then yes, bench Bo.
