Yes General, I am just speculating and going off the TV shots that BLM is losing confidence, since this Saturday will be my first live game. I just noticed in both games, Rice and Tech, the shots of BLM in the second half looks like a beaten kid who's about to cry, and others on this board mentioned it as well. That, and the fact the INT's get progressively worse as the game goes on.

The first INT against Tech I get, trying to catch Tech off guard, even though the Tech DB's said after the game they were expecting it since the first play of the previous 2 games BLM threw long (wonder what the play will be against TCU?). And the tip off Sanders I can understand as well. But the last 2 against Tech, the one bad overthrow and the one in the flat that he tried to force in when there was a wide open receiver only 5 yards away, were really bad reads and throws.

If this continues, I am afraid JJ will break BLM, and we'll be talking about another phenom that JJ recruits 2 years from now and we'll be going through another "rebuilding" year. Lack of confidence kills a QB.

Heaven knows that June Jones doesn't have a clue as to what to do with quarterbacks

I agree. However, I think that he is looking at his boy, Bo, through rose colored glasses. or beer goggles.

What does he NEED to do? See if there is someone on his team that will throw the ball to US not THEM!

I understand growing pains, but come on!

Is that your answer to the question about which interceptions weren't his fault? Habla ingles?

And yes, thank you, I am a working stiff with a desk job. What sorry desk job do you have?

More importantly, lack of confidence by a coach in his QB kills a QB's confidence. I don't think we've seen that yet. If there was, he wouldn't keep throwing him out there.

June knows more about his mental makeup than you or I do. Should be an interesting process.

He obviously has JJ's support and thus most of us. But his biggest challenge is his relationship with his teammates. I suspect they now believe that they can't win with Bo this season. Their patience is the same as any other teenager in a world of instant gratification. They probably want the QB to be the one that can get them wins now, not 2-3 years from now.

First, he is a freshman starting QB. This is always a problem with upperclassman.

Second, he played extremely poorly against Tech. With the exception of the first interception (wrong route run by his receiver), the rest of the errors were his. These guys individually played hard in the first half and many believed we could end the half close or even tied. He needs to take some responsibilty and demonstrate it to these guys.

Third, his work habits in practice and drills are now being challenged by his teamates (right or wrong this is a natural reaction).

Finally, as QB he needs to provide leadership for his team, difficult for a freshman, but he needs to understand this a major part of the role.

I made my point. If you don't like it then don't go to the games. The pointless complaining on this board makes no difference. Can you say irrelevant?

The one argument that I am really tired of is "young team." This is in part, as stated above, a coaches decision. When you put upperclassmen on the bench and put true freshmen in the 2 deep it makes your team younger.

Now, in the long run it may be the right decision. But to use the young team excuse, please.

Yep...Bo lit up Texas State College for the Blind Women. Who couldn't? Maybe BLM will prove to be a great gamer in the future, but what is there to lose by giving someone else a shot (other than a pile of interceptions!)?

I mean a chance...not mop up role!!! There is one QB who drove for a score against Tech at home while the TTU defense was trying to preserve a shutout! Numbers pretty? Nope, but they get better considering at least one wrong route and 2-3 drops. the only number that counts is the "6" that he jammed in the face of the Tech defense.

Spare BLM's feelings? Lighten up? Give me a friggin break! I want to see some progress! So let's wait another week and 4-5 interceptions later and a 40 point deficit and put someone else in to "see what he can do." PUKE!

Look, Jones obviously likes what he sees in Mitchell, so let him stick with his guy if he thinks that's what is best. But let's not elevate the guy over what he has shown on the field. I still don't see what Jones does in the freshman QB, but then the Circle of Champions is not paying me $2M/year for my sorry desk job.

Face it, he is not as talented as you were when you played QB as a freshman at a D1 school. Write him a letter and tell him how it is supposed to be done, hoss.

I'd just like to see a QB who starts for three straight years and doesn't transfer, join a rock band, become a baseball player, pursue his MBA , gets a career ending injury, get suspended, or some other crazy thing.

Has Bo Levi made mistakes? Yes. Has he made too many ints? Yes. Has the defense looked well below average? Yes. Have the receivers dropped balls and run wrong routes? Yes. Are the players learning a new offense and defense? Yes. Is there a lack of upperclassman talent on the team? Yes. Are the freshman and redshirt freshman playing well enough in practice to justify playing them now? Yes. Is JJ a proven winning coach? Yes. Are there too many armchair qbs and want-a-be-coaches who post on this board? Yes. Is JJ attracting more talented players than SMU has been in the not so distant future? Yes. Is SMU's football future brighter than its been in 20 years? Yes. Do we have an athletic director that seems commited to winning? Yes. Has Billy Joe made his point? Yes.
