A throw away season to prove a point?

or play the hands your dealt as a professional?

For the price of the hired gun I expect something

Even I'm gaining on you...

Should have stayed in socal...

Dang they're fast!!!!

Yeah, I was thinking that too on Saturday as Ike did my town. 150+ power lines, several hundred trees, 25 or so homes. No fatalities though, and that's outstanding. But yeah, I have a pix on my computer of Salt Creek beach near the Ritz at sunset. Very easy place to miss indeed.
My father-in-law owns Cafe Expresso in San Clemente. We are hoping to see them at Christmas.

Don't tell us to be patient......I've been patient for 22 years in football and 17 years in basketball. The being patient days are over.

To quote Coach Jones accurately, he said we have "more speed at the skill positions" than he did his first year at Hawaii. He also followed that by stating his Hawaii team had better linemen.

I'm glad you and your's are safe and well.

Looking at the photos of the Rice campus I'm glad my daughter chose SMU!

I was one of the prime contractors for the Ritz when we built it in 1984.

What a beautiful location!

I'll never forget parking my Ferrari 512 BB Boxer in the parking lot at Salt Creek below the Ritz, working all day, and then returning to find itty bitty, teeny tiny sand all over the engine cover...

Needless to say the sand totally FU'd the Weber carbs to the sound of $2000.00 (and that was 1984!)!

BTW No one ever accused USC grads of having more sense than $$$!

Yes, fond memories of Salt Creek

Oh. Oooh. Sorry about your car. Yikes. Not good. We actually lived just up in Beacon Hill...just above St. Anne School. My boys went there...my older until 1st grade and younger a couple of years in pre-school. <edit> My older son's first college game to see was USC vs. Washington State in 2003 or 04 in the Coliseum. Can't recall which year. He's a fan...is on his short list of colleges.

Don't be too sorry about the Ferrari as anyone who buys one knows that they are inclined to expensive "charming quirks"!

Not as bad as a Lambo but close!

I'll be in Dallas Friday so if you are at the game or are in socal for Christmas
send me a PM and we'll hook up.

We all realize JJ is a great proven Coach and that he thinks BLM has to "work his way through this." He may be right, but alot of us question whether or not BLM is the best QB on the team now. I just hope he doesn't throw another 4 or 5 interceptions against rival TCU on National TV again this week. If he does and we get blown out again this week because of it, is JJ going to just keep playing the guy ? At some point you have got to give Turner/Willis a chance.

Bo Levi is not rattled nor does he care about what you think. Same for June Jones. Both, along with most all the other players, care about making this SMU program better than what it is. I can assure you, most any one of you take the beating Bo has taken on and off the field, you curl up like a baby crying for your momma. Or better yet, you quit! I will bet there will be a ton more TCU fans at your stadium than SMU fans. And, I am sure most of the negative folks on this forum will not show up. I will be there, coming up from Houston. Will be in New Orleans too, and was at Rice. Poor showing at this point. What's your excuse? Not winning? Then don't come when you are winning, because it will happen. You will not have a better coach, and a better guy, than June Jones in our lifetime. You can count on that. So, say what you want, but show up. Support the team. That's the only way your rants count.

Look, the folks preaching patience on this board have a great point, and are probably right. Of course, the message would be much easier to heed if we'd had a little better record over the last 20 years....

I am tired of the patience argument but I got my wish that we have a proven Div. 1-A winning head coach. We also have a head coach with head coaching and winning experience in the USFL and NFL. We have not had a head coach like that at SMU since the glory days. This is big for SMU so I am willing to take my lumps this year and I am going to have a great time at the games doing it. Everyone in town is talking about SMU and that is a first since the winning days of the 1980s and it is because of JJ. I am willing to give him a lot of leeway with what he is doing now because without him as our coach SMU would be just another hidden story in the DMN. I am also a big supporter of Bo Levi. He will continue to grow and improve. I cannot wait until the winning starts.
