At this point it looks as though you will have to wait. But I hope not.

Our job is to quit second guessing everything, be supportive and be patient. Yes, we were all hoping for a duplication of his initial success at Hawaii; however, it is not going to happen in this program at this time. It may take as many as 4 years before we are truly competitive. We finally have the support of the President, administration, AD plus a goal and vision/game plan and only time will afford us the opportunity to gain the strength, maturity, experience, leadership and recruiting necessary to make the strides we all seek. Relax and be patient it will happen.

That's no fun :!: We wouldn't have this board if armchair coaching
wasn't part of the game. Maybe our next coach should be a puppet
controlled by polls on this board.

BTW, why wasn't BLM redshirted this year? Use Willis or your next
most talented experienced QB this year. Let BLM learn a little, and
become adjusted to college life, and football. Then you have him for
4 great years, and there's less risk you'll destroy his athletic
confidence, or lose him academically.

"Relax and be patient it will happen." This is what you probably said
with Gregg/Rossley, Cavan, and Bennett. This is getting way too
repetitious to me with the completely starting over every 5 years.
Kicking older experienced players to the curb, and saying you're a
young rebuilding team hasn't worked for the past 20 years here.

Very true. Not easy changing a culture of losing, a culture which of course includes the fans.

No one even slightly reasonable could have expected more or different from the team at this point. Let's look for improvement on our way to a 5-7 season this year and a winning season next year.

50% of the people polled on this board thought we would have a winning record.

5-7 :?: This year. You forgot to set the alarm last night. You're
still dreaming.

I'm looking at a 5-7 in JJ's 4th year, and a 6-6 without a bowl game in
his 5th which get's him not renewed.

Then half of us weren't very reasonable. You, being the pessimist, predicted four wins and I, being the sunshiner, predicted five.

Then you need to give up being a Mustangs fan and choose another team. If June Jones cannot get it done, we need to shut it down.

I can't. I'm addicted.

I've been a Pony fan since 1962 when I was a small kid watching SMU
beat Rice on TV 15 - 7 with my SMU 50 Dad in Hayden Fry's first year.

BUS, if BLM was comparable to a young Farve, JJ would have already said he wouldn't amount to much and push to trade him!

Maybe we could've got STUFFED on 4th down going for a victory.

Maybe an experienced QB could've kept us in the game with a lot fewer
turnovers.

Still a loss, but I would feel a lot better about trying hard for a good
season this year. Don't feel PRACTICE years are good for
anybody.

Hey, we all hope the young man throws 3, 4 or 5 TD passes Saturday night and if he does, I'll be glad to say JJ's an unquestionable genius and BLM is an awesome QB freshman or not.
