The selection of those colors was to symbolize SMU's high standards, that is the meaning. Perhaps the problem is that we no longer have those high standards...after all they did let me in.
Or maybe after almost 100 years, we just don't need symbols anymore...the standards speak for themselves.
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.

You are right...a BMW and a rich Daddy is all you need to meet the standards.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

I'd give this an A-, but because the truth hurts I'm knocking you down to a B+.

Or should I wear a tux? Its the Iron Skillet game after all.
Wear red because it is the most opposite from the purple.

I'm pretty sure the it will be the blue jerseys, the red jerseys only came in not very long ago and don't have anything on them (Numbers, names etc)
