A Call To Prayer Ponyfans

Postby TheBestAvailable » Sun Sep 21, 2008 12:39 am

Bretheren let us all pray that JJ wakes up in the morning with an overwhelming amount of clarity and enough common sense to put JW in as the starting QB vs Tulane.

If we're going to lose I would at least like a little entertainment. This isn't even entertaining on any level.

Please give us the JJ the Circle of Champions paid millions for and not the one who's currently suffering from a serious case of the Phil Bennett syndrome.

you keep dreaming and praying for the prospects of a 2-10 or maybve even a 3-9 season. Don't think JJ cares. I'm sure he wants these guys to be more competitive, but he's got a 5 year deal and is showing he's very secure in that. I don't expect any deviation from "the plan"

Charleston, I believe you are correct. Play the young ones and to heck with this season.

On one hand I agree, and on the other .... I want to see wins ASAP.

I will stay calm and trust in June Jones.

I think we have to stay calm. You know the players and some of their parents read this board and all we seem to be doing is spewing negativity. They are young and need to be told what they did wrong but not going so far as many of the posts about BLM and others.

Keep the faith

And no I am not a sunshiner, I just got the privelage of seeing the first couple years of post death penalty teams and we are definitely on the right track now.

Hey Bo throws that shuffle-pass real well to the other teams lineman. Three times in two weeks is Very Entertaining (for the other team's fans!) :!:

Is that designed to be the primary receiver for the play? It almost looks mechanical for him since most of the time he appears to be looking the other way. I always thought to the shuffle pass as the one you do after you have checked 1 and 2.

5 year plans might not be a good thing.

Note: I am NOT comparing June Jones to Stalin...just saying that we might want to try a 3-4 year plan and not a 5 year plan.

But hey, JJ says he is the best QB on the roster so unfortunately he will keep playing. If we are going to throw away a year for development we should start Logan Turner. BLM doesn't have the football IQ needed to be in a system that takes this much accuracy. The mistakes he makes out there are not even acceptable for a true freshman in a new system. And why does everyone talk about his arm??? Every time he actually gets a throw off he under throws and floats the ball up for the defender to get it.

Isn't it a SHOVEL pass?
I know - doesn't matter. TCU was a bad game, albeit against a great defense. I thought the Frog defense was overrated before the game, but after flying in for the game ... they're pretty damn good. But so far I've seen every game, either in person or on TV, and there are a lot of things getting better. The offensive line is vastly improved over last year - call last night a reminder that although the OL is better, they've still got a ways to go. Fumble aside, Aldrick Robinson did some good things, including his adjustment to that 50-yarder while it was in the air. Serge Elizee got more inside push than I remember noticing in the first three games, and Patrick Handy looked better. Wish we'd gotten to see more of Taylor Thompson and Patrick Fleming, but we'll see more and more of them, I'd bet.

We have to remember last night was a no-lose situation. We were supposed to lose to big, bad, Frog U. None of us wanted to, of course, but we were supposed to. They're claiming top 25 status, etc. They have that defense that statistically was what, second in the nation? Third? They have a coach who has been teaching his style for how many years, as opposed to four weeks for Coach Jones?

Keep the faith. Losing sucks, and we haven't lost our last game. But from Coach Jones on down to the level of the incoming recruits, there is enormous reason for optimism.

I can't wait for Thursday's game in New Orleans - hope to see a LOT of PonyFans here!
