$5.00 for a Coke?

Postby ponyfan08 » Mon Sep 22, 2008 12:17 pm

I never thought I would ever pay $5.00 for a Coke. It must be the cup.
Is it my imagination or did the prices go up a $1 from last week?
I enjoyed getting abused on the field and at the concession stand.

Pony Up!

I am thinking about smuggling in a camelback full of Diet Coke into the game since a soft drink or water is now more expense than booze.

Yes, a dollar more, and a smaller cup. You almost didnt notice the cup was smaller, did you? Verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry cute, very clever, just another little bit of cleverness for you fans, to go along with higher ticket prices, reorganized sections, and doubling the cost of parking. The Survey says we cant be top-25 until we bleed the fans dry.

Fans may actually be the wrong word, I havent felt like a fan in a couple of years now. I feel like the Mark in a 20 year long con game.
Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.

I thought $3.50 for a coke at Amon Carter stadium was highway robbery.

My wife brings at least 2 Diet Dr Peppers (cans) in to the game in her purse. Never has had a problem with security questioning her, either. ;)

The extra dollar is the price you pay to see that vaunted SMU offense put on a show??

As Norm said on his show today - It is very ugly at SMU these days. You expect them to get scored on, but they can't be happy about scoring 7 points a game.

For large 32 oz drink

40 cents for the cup ( remember oil is way up )
19 oz of ice - industry standard to cost at 60% ice fill rate - 02 cents
13 oz of ANY soda ( less than 1 cent per oz. ) All brands. .13 cents
Lid .o4 - no lids.
Straw at .02 - no straw
Total expense before labor. $.55 cents per serving. or 89% profit.
NICE business

Less than 1% is not a great profit. Watch your decimal points. BTW, you forgot the sales tax part of that five dollars. :)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

sorry Bus, i dunno it's just sticks me in the craw to see people moaning about the price of a coke at an SMU game when people like you spend hundreds of dollars reserving your blvd spot, heck thats more than a hundred per game just for the spot, plus the blvd food, plus the blvd beer & sodas, and everything else. people park free at the Dart station, get a free bus ride to and from the game, guzzle free beer and free food all afternoon then walk in to the game and complain about the price of a coke when some of the money is even going to charity!

very very true. if people want a soda that bad, they will buy it. if they think its too expensive but are that thirsty, they will still buy it. Fill up on the vard and stop whining. first the jersey stripping doesnt look right and now the drinks are too expensive.

invest in this if you dont want to fork up the cash at the concession stands
