OK SMU's Offense was EXACTLY like West Virginia's except we passed the ball 165 times more and ran the ball 158 times less.

Heh, I was hoping....but when we went with the true freshman, that went out the window....

True, we have played 2 tough teams the last two weeks, but we won't be able to score enough points with Bo in conference play to cover the points the Defense will give up. If we had Willis firing on all cylinders we might could win some of those high scoring games we barely lost last year...but now the season is gone, momentum is gone, and June is going to have a tougher time convincing kids to come here than if we had won a few games with Willis...Hence we are back to a 4-5 year rebuilding plan instead of 2-3 years.

How do you know that JW can't run this offense? I thought June Jones was an offensive genius and great teacher, hard to believe he could not have taken a record setting junior QB and turned him into a RnS guy.

i think the problem in that lies within JWs patience to stay in the pocket. i sure wasnt out there for practice before the season but JW has never been the type to stand in the pocket more than 3 seconds but yet again, most of the time last year, the pocket closed right after he got the snap.

in order to run this Offense, you need to have the patience to stay in the pocket, i dont think JJ ever saw that in JW.

Hell, we might not be able to cover the points that Bo gives up to defensive lineman much less the number of points the defense gives up because they are on the field 3/4 of the game!

As bad as our defense has been, remember, BLM is practicing against third string defensive players who are mirroring TCU. I suspect he's learning that what he sees against the scout team isn't there against a true Division 1-A defense. Perhaps JJ ought to put 22 players on the defensive side of the ball in practice to give BLM a game day feel.

On the other hand, I have seen Bo, a QB that came from a running HS school team, not even close to the spread or the RnS and I will say he cannot run this offense.

You can [deleted] that JW can't run this offense, but I would have a hard time seeing how he could do worse than Bo.

People just need to quit taking up for June and Bo and admit that JJ was going to start Bo regardless and stick with him, no matter what. His ego won't let him eat crow and take a chance that Turner or Willis might do a better job and make him admit he chose the wrong guy.

...and isn't Jones more concerned with a couple of years from now when he's been able to recruit some of his own players? Then he'll have a Junior QB with two years of game time instead of a kid who's never played.
