JJ PC this morning

JJ verified bigdaddy in that JW has been a receiver for 10 days...the way it came across, JW was moved to receiver in much the same way Phillips was moved to TE or Chase was moved to tackle. He ain't going back.

Why would he transfer now and get 1 year to maybe play at a d-1 aa school and get a degree from Sam Houston State when he can get a degree for free at SMU...

He lost the job when JJ was hired. In August he should have been working at another position.

The system is not new. It is a gimmick offense. Been around for years but only ran by one or two people. NFL thinks its a joke. Georgia thought is was a joke. It works against weak opponents where multiple points are scored. Thats beside the point! You would think JJ would have addressed his upper classmen when he arrived. JWill seen the writing on the wall before spring practice ever started and was cool with it. Put the best players on the field. If that is happening, lets roll with it. JWill graduates in June and he moves on in life while this message board will continue to be he highlight of SMU football.

At least we can hope when he graduates you will too.

I don't know what the coach sees. I don't pretend to have more knowledge about this team than these coaches do. I hope that Coach Jones has made the right long-term choice at QB. I would like to see him use JW more if he fits elsewhere and offers us a better chance to win. I'm all for anything that the coach thinks will improve the team. I won't accuse Coach Jones of having a big ego and wrecking the team. I'll continue to support the team, drink the Kool-aid and attend the games. And I'll hope we improve. That must make me a terrible fan.

thats the answer plain and simple. you can say JJ lied all you want or that he had his guy even before he left Hawaii but what it all comes down to is JW is not a pocket passer and no matter how much JJ tried to mold him to the system, he couldnt because JW lacks the patience to stay in the pocket

I have too. It is a mute point. We are a bad team with JWill at QB as well. Groom for the future. We don;t have much to groom, so play your best players at the positions where we are weakest.

Bigdaddy, it is VERY difficult to make a "mute" point on a message board, but if you could please find a way, that would be great

A) If we run it well, I don't care how many others run it.
B) Last I checked, SMU isn't in the NFL, so that's a ... "moot" point.
C) Not sure Georgia thought the system was a joke. They just had much better athletes than Hawaii.
D) It might be a "gimmick" offense, but I recall someone with a screen name very similar to yours saying shortly after Coach Jones was hired that Willis would shine in the system because it fits his skills - as a quarterback - perfectly.
