A guy to watch is Colton Palmer out of Kerrville Tivy, over 60% completion rate, 10 TD's, 2 Ints, is 6'4", 210. Only negative is he runs a lot as well, which JJ doesn't like.

He was at the SMU camp this past summer and according to the other SMU board he got a lot of praise. BUT, several Big 12 schools are also recruiting him, incl. Okie State, so it maybe tough for JJ to land him except he'd probably get to start as a frosh considering what we've seen so far this year!
..............I have heard from a source in Kerrville that Colton Palmer has said he does not think he wants to play College Football at this point.

Not to rip on McJunkin, but he is a frosh from HS starting at center. It is possible that he may have contributed to the fumbled snaps. To me, calling for Logan Turner to start now is similar to calling for Bartel when Tate Wallis was starting, Tony Eckert when Phillips was starting, Jared Romo when Eckert was starting, and Chris Phillips when Romo was starting. All performed just as poorly when given the starting job. Just because someone can come in at the end of a game and do decently when the opposing defense is tired, doesn't mean they can perform as a starter.

I don't disagree with your post, but Romo was clearly better than Eckert for what the team needed.

Bartel better than Wallis
Eckert/Phillips--push
Romo better than Eckert
Romo better than Phillips

Logan bertter than BL

Can't blame the center when BL drops balls right in his hands

I do think BLM will throw 3 picks tonight. And thats with JJ only letting throw short passes and not even running the true run and shoot. I think we will see Logan 3rd quarter. I think BLM will have a TD though =) Didnt tulane's d hold Bama's offense to just 1 td? I believe the other 2 were defensive td's. This is a bama O that tore up Clemson and Arkansas. Fired up or not...

I can say without a doubt Bo Levi Mitchell is the worst starting college quarterback I have ever seen.

He should have redshirted. I tried to warn them. Logan or JW should have started with frosh as redshirts. Maybe they'll listen next time.

Baylor QB is doing very well because he can scramble/run.

We are expecting a true freshman to read defenses like a 5th year senior. Not going to happen.

Nacho,

There is no question. I bought it hook, line, and sinker the quote by Jones that he was going to go with the quarterback that gave us the best chance to win games. Considering his pedigree for identifying quality QB's I figured why question the man. However, after watching the first four games, I refuse to believe the other four quarterbacks are worse than Mitchell at this point. If ever a kid needed a redshirt year it was BLM. He came from one of the few programs in the state that doesn't use the spread offense and was expected to execute one of the most complex offenses in college football in his true freshman year. Jones clearly is throwing these kids to the wolves, this season be damned. The scary part is what we are doing to this kid's confidence in himself. We are putting him in a position where he can't succeed, the exact opposite of what coaches are paid to do. I worry that any chance BLM had of developing into a confident/consistent quarterback has been destroyed by throwing him out there this year.

someone tell me how it meshes that this kid is prolific in doing things that Jones hasn't seen in thirty years (BAD things) and he gives us the best chance to win? My gosh how many interceptions would the D-line have made if we started someone else?
I will not make age an issue in this campaign. I'm not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent's youth and inexperience.

It seemed like from the reports this summer that Braden SMith was completing more passes and was having less int's than BLM . And was being more careful with the ball and making better reads. Maybe i am wrong about that. Thats just what it sounded like.

From the practices I attended Logan Turner was the QB who most consistently completed passes and executed the offense.

Anything I say about BL purely relates to football. I do not know him, never met him. I am concerned about his future. If he loses his job that may be it for him at SMU and he could wind up in d-1aa. JJ clearly fell in love with his arm strength. Freight docks are full of people with great arms. Not every QB in the NFL has a great arm (Look at JJ).

JJ obviously didn't want to play anyone else. All we heard about was the competition between JW and Logan in the Fall and then out of nowhere BL was named the starter. Very odd.

Also i really think that if Logan got to start and was given more of the reps, he would do better than he has been coming in late in the 4th. He went through spring practice. Ran a similar offense in HS. And didnt he have the most td's in the state his senior year? Needless to say he can run the offense better i think , even though his arm may not be as strong.

There is one fact that is beyond doubt. He couldn't do any worse than BLM. Lets give somebody else a chance.

If we get blown out and BL plays poorly the majority of the game then I have to wonder what is going on.

I'm a fan and I have patience but i'm not a masochist.
