I knew that was coming. Eventually he had to have a decent game.
I don't think anyone was booing Bo, we just wanted to see something that justified him being on the field. For the most part, he played well last....and he was not helped in the 1st half by the drops. I still think Willis should be playing, but I feel a little better after finally seeing something from Bo.
I was just as impressed with the defense last night. Bell played a helluva game.

I think the game last night showed that we are not quite as bad as most of us thought. We were actually playing a team that is closer to what we will compete against for the rest of the season. I expect (with a few good breaks) that we can win 2-3 more games this year. :D We just can not match up against top 20 teams at this time and probably won't be able to next year as well.

main thing i dislike is his inability to air it out. i feel like he underthrows the receiver more often than not when trying to chunk it down the field and it's just up for grabs for the dbs

IIRC he threw a few downfield that were over the receivers head and a bit too long. However, I am concerned about his 'long-range' accuracy as well. Maybe just a little more time in the pocket will help. He was getting a pretty good rush last night.

The kid is a true frosh playing QB. There hasn't been one game this year where I didn't think the kid would eventually be a dynamic passer. Its going to take some time, but he's got some skills. What he needs is some additional skill talent surrounding him and bigger, badder Oline.

We just have very little talent. To me, Bo is the least of my worries. Its actually hard for me to imagine him being anything but damn good by his junior and senior years.

Time now to start the "Bo for Heisman" campaign. By the end of this year's schedule, it's clear that Bo will be the outstanding quarterback in the NCAA Div. 1 league. Tulane will turn out to be the only loss the rest of the year, Conference Champs. Only question is, which bowl will we go to?

I too thought JW should have been the starter this year, but BLM is steadily improving. One thing that would be nice to see is for him to get started early in the game. Every game seems to start off with him leading the receivers too much. Some of the first few dropped passes were bad throws. Yes the receivers may have touched the ball, but they were on the shoestrings or behind or too high or way out in front. BLM seems to settle in as the game progresses, unfortunately, by then we are playing from behind and he tries to do too much. The first interception, however, was a perfect pass. Hit Sanders in stride about shoulder high. He muffed it, knocked it in the air, and the mustang luck put the ball right at a defender.

How about the ropes for the first two TD passes? The first ball went 32 yards in the air. I don't think it was ever more than 10 feet off the ground. The second was a laser to Sanders threading the needle in triple coverage.

How does Robinson always have a knack for getting behind the defenses? He is also starting to actually catch those deep balls. As AR and BLM get more time together, we are going to see a lot of big plays. Defenses can't key on AR because ES will hurt you just as bad. We have a way to go, but we are starting to see some of the potential of this offense.

Looks like the light finally went on for BLM. The problem is that it is only a 5 watt bulb. One half doesn't make a great QB.

ponyte....1 half doesn't make a great QB and neither does 8 weeks. Bo has more than a "5 watt bulb". It just takes someone w/ more than a 5 watt bulb to realize it.

I've caught passes from Hixson and Ford. A couple for TDs. I have seen Flannigan play. I have seen QBs mature and QBs blow up. Learning to read defenses takes time and effort I will grant. BLM may, may, be the future. So far, I haven't been overwhelmed. When he learns the difference between our receivers and defensive lineman, then I will rethink my assessment and consider him a 25 watt bulb. Until then, one half doesn't make a great QB.

Just the opposite...he has been overthrowing his deep passes. When he gets that straigtened out, we will have more TD's.

ok well i guess there are examples of him overthrowing and underthrowing. basically his deep ball accuracy needs work but i was impressed with his progression esp in the 2nd half.
