What a really cool story. I like the guy a lot because he really stands out at the Highland Park Middle School football games. Not many guys at Highlander Stadium who look like they just stepped off a surfboard on the North Shore.

that was an amazing piece. i'm about to have a son in 5 weeks. we pray every night that he is a healthy, smart boy. seeing pieces like this are so encouraging that no matter what happens in life, there are opportunities out there for everyone, and good people to recognize that everyone can achieve anything they want.

this is a testament to the encouragement that these coaches give to their players too.
Ok this is getting ridiculous...I agree with Dutch on THIS ONE POST by him totally

This really was an amazing story...I really believe these guys will turn it around here. Be patient and good things will happen here.

It will be a great situation if after this is turned around; Reinbold became our next head coach.

I wonder how many recruits and (possibly more crucial) their parents watched the segment on ESPN. That type of goodwill will be useful for Reinbold and JJ.

Brian Kajiyama released a statement about the ESPN segment. Nobody is denying what was said in the segment, but Brian says that he's unhappy that the slant by ESPN was negative towards the University of Hawaii.

"I appreciate the piece that E:60 produced that shared my life story. However, I was disappointed in any instances which coach Greg McMackin and the University of Hawai'i program were negatively portrayed. That was not my intention. I appreciate the opportunity that Coach McMackin has provided me to continue being a part of the Warrior 'ohana. I will continue to remain loyal to the University of Hawai'i and will do my best in my new capacity."

The ESPN:60 story on Brian K is now on YouTube. I don't know if/when YouTube will take it down, but it is available as of now.
