Pretty strange that they have the #1 scoring offense in the country, and couldn't fill that 26,000? seat stadium. Not to mention, they were scoring left and right, and the place was almost empty, with 5 minutes left in the game.

2nd Smallest Student Body in Division 1A- I bet they bring a pretty good crowd to Ford-on a CUSA scale.

I'm sure they will have a good crowd, for what will probably be a blood bath at Ford. I'm just saying that playing against one of their rivals, on a beautiful Saturday night, with the nations top scoring offense, the only game in town etc.......Do they have to win the National Championship to sell 26,000 tickets?

im pretty sure last night was a sell out... i was sitting 5 rows from the top and there was only a few open seats. the stadium is MUCH smaller after the renovations, but it looks better (if you are a fan of oversized high school stadiums). the crowd was great, and the overall game presentation puts SMU to shame. and the best part is you can leave at half time, walk across the street take some shots at the bars or go to your tailgate, and then reenter the game! here are some pictures

did anybody notice that Tulsa had about 380 rushing out of about 595 yards Total Offense-that's a heck of a lot in that offense. They were using that Hog Wild Offense where the RB gets a direct snap to great advantage last nite. Another little tidbit, Tulsa hasn't beaten SMU in Dallas since something like 1992 which should drive the crowd. Another interesting tidbit-Tulsa has scored 56+ points four games in a row-I doubt that any team has ever done that in NCAA History.

Much like SMU, it takes years of winning to build a fan base. Yes - we (like Tulsa) have many years ahead of us if we're going to do the same. I'd bet 5- 10 years of CONSISTENT WINNING 7 TO 8+ games annually & that includes against top 20 teams. Don't be critical - our administration has put us in a deep, deep hole that will take years to dig out of.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

Last I heard we are the smallest D1a school -- 4,200 total, 2,800 undergrad.

It wasn't quite a sellout last night. The upper corners of the west stands weren't quite full, same with the end zone. I think it was just under 25K. Hopefully a ranking down the road will take care of that, assuming we earn it.

Malzahn calls that the "Wildcat" and the player taking the snaps was actually our third string QB/ starting receiver AJ Whitmore. We will run a similar play with second string QB Jake Bower at times. Last year we had a linebacker, Chris Chamberlain, play some QB.

I agree the stadium looks pretty nice, but grading their game day presentation versus ours (outside of the BLVD) is like battling a one legged man in a butt kicking contest..

#1 was in your description of the game itself... ability to leave the stadium during the game and come back in...

#2 see TCU game

#3 running out of concessions during a game

#4 PA announcer that is either over the top loud/obnoxious, or impossible to hear a simple description of what went on the field.

I don't think I'm the first one on the board to have issues with our game day presentation (again excluding the BLVD). But if the BLVD can only be enjoyed before the game that removes some of its luster.

I'm not sure. I haven't watched much SMU this year, other than parts of the Rice and UCF games. If Graham gets the opportunity, he will try to run up the score. We're trying to get ranked and that seems to be part of our plan.

I think Jones is a hell of a coach and I wouldn't be surprised if he has some interesting ideas for us. I'm more worried about this game than UCA or UNT, especially because we always lose in Dallas. But, I do think our guys will come out with a chip on their shoulder because of the rankings. I think we are due for a close game and you guys are due to start turning the corner before long.
