Someone refresh my memory about Graham

Postby RGV Pony » Mon Oct 06, 2008 8:50 am

Alright, my self-imposed moratorium on thinking about the Tulsa game (thereby ruining my week) lasted less than 24 hrs. So, someone tell me this:

When Graham got to Rice, which was full of players recruited to run the wishbone or whatever crappy-a$$ offense Hatfield was running, what was the cupboard like there? Did they already have easier admission policies than SMU? Did they have athletes that fit Graham's/Applewhite's 'system' right away?

IIRC, didn't they have a former WR or something to that effect play QB?

Were they laden with 3 star and high 2 star athletes that just hadn't been able to 'blossom'?

Was their defense good the preceding year? Or competitive? Or have players that Graham brought around?

editorial note: None of the above is intended as rhetorical, or condescending, or smart-a$$, or even tongue in cheek. Really, I'm curious.

Graham is not long for Tulsa after this year and I'll put Gary Patterson on that list too.

Malzahn is on that list too. If he does not replace Graham at Tulsa, he will be a head coach somewhere. Now that he has 3 years of OC on his resume, he has convinced me that he is for real.

Graham has no loyalty. Ask Rice!

Will Graham be wearing a Scarlet A at the game this weekend?

Got to love a guy who agrees to an extension, complete with the obligatory "I love Rice" rhetoric ... and then bolts THE VERY NEXT DAY for Tulsa. Think of every word that can't be written on this site, and they all can be applied to him. Here's hoping he enjoys all of the post-Tulsa successor his predecessor (Kragthorpe) has had at Louisville.
