Hope these guys can surprise me and beat Rice - if they can, I expect as many as 4-5 wins this year. Lose at Rice, and I just hope we can surpass last year's win total.
I usually come into the season hoping we can go .500 at home , but this year's home schedule looks tough. Even Texas State, early in the season with a bunch of FR in the 2-deep may be more competitive than we had hoped. 2nd half of the schedule (after our young guys have some "experience" ) doesn't look like it is filled with any "cupcakes" (until we prove otherwise, SMU is the cupcake on everyone's scehdule).
My hope is that we do better than last year and are inreasingly more competitive along the way. JJ has a 5 yr contract and this is the 1st year of rebuilding this program. I just don't want to see 0-12 in his 2nd year. Been there, done that.
Either way, I'm going to make my 1st trip ever to Annapolis and very much looking forward to that trip
I know I didn't exacty make a "prediction" for this year...I've fallen into the "no expectations" camp...but at least we got that 1 win. My only hope is that we can find a win against a Division I (FBS) opponent. Hopeful that these guys continue to improve and that we can jump up and bite either Navy or Memphis. Don't see much hope otherwise. I want to see "year over year" improvement in the June Jones era. Would be nice to see the steady improvement we saw during the Ron Meyer era until this program can reach the point of competing for CUSA championships

I'm sticking with my season "prediction". No "expectations" except that we will see a lot of FR on the field. I "hope" we can find another win, but certainly don't "expect" it. I do know that I'm still looking forward to the Annapolis trip...and Navy is looking pretty good this year. Hope we can make that a competitive game.
Would just like to see these guys more competitive week after week.
Oh...and I like the future of this OL. Got a good FR nucleus and some good looking recruits coming in behind them. I do believe it will get better
Go Ponies. Beat Tulsa. Bring some sunshine back to this board

Call me a sunshiner, but I'm going to hold off on revising. I'm holding out hope for one more 'w'.

Boy if we're going to overachieve, we better get started, huh RGV?

I'm thinking one needs to learn to achieve prior to aspiring to overachieve.

3-9 2008 Ummmm -2 perhaps
7-5 2009
10-2 2010
I will support the team and not become negative even if they lose every game this year.
The plan is in motion it will work. I have watched it before with the same people implementing the plan. Three years from now SMU will have JJs team and a ship.
Let him develop and recruit his kids his way. Look for a few wins this year. More the next and a ship the third.

If they loose every game this year I will wonder how in the hell they avoided losing.

OK, my 8-4 prediction is dead. And I fear 7-5 is on life-support. I still think that we can beat Houston OR Tulsa (both of whom we play tough recently) and then win out for a 6-6.
so I'm going with 6-6. I also live in Iceland for the summer, and the Falklands for the winter, which explains my 24 hour a day, 365 days a year sunshine.
Thank you.
