That would be quite a lure to get him away from us, I really hope that he's got it in his head that he's June's heir apparent. Didn't Chase get some playing time as a true freshman? Of course Padron would have to beat out Blane Gabbert, which isn't going to happen. So maybe this won't be such a big threat to us.

yes chase played a little wr/qb his freshmen year at mizzou, but brad smith was their main guy. and like you said, i dont think Padron would beat out gabbert, at least next year

Does anyone think that Padron will challenge BLM next year?

the real question: Does he have an arm like Steve Austin?

18,
I am trying to stop myself from laughing on that one.

Here's some more ink on Padron:
Here's a High School Hangtime article from before the season started. I didn't notice it in the thread, though it could have been back there.

And here's an article from last weekends game where Padron threw for 319 yards and 4 touchdowns (adding another rushing TD as well).

This guy could really turn out to be someone special. I Hope they don't rush him into things when he gets here, because he could be magic with some time.

I will see Kyle in person this Friday night. I hope he throws for 400 yards and my Coppell Cowboys beat him by one point. We are expecting a sell out at Coppell. Should be a good game.

That means you will be able to check out SMU OL commit Jordan Favreau from Coppell as well.

Favreau is by far our best lineman. He doesn't look like he is any where close to being done growing. We don't grow big kids in Coppell just big dads that keep growing.

Looking forward to your feedback on how Padron and Favreau did.

positives about Favreau: a year younger than his classmates, something like a 31" vertical, good atheticism, people seem to think he's going to grow. on the downside, he's anther 6'2ish OL.

6'2" is not that small for an o-lineman...anywhere from 6'2" to 6'5" is size enough...

Oh Geez-the only position that 6-2 is really what you look for or accept is at Center. If you can't get the guys you want you settle for the guys SMU has signed for years. Go check out Top 25 or even Top 50 teams and tell me the percentage of successful schools routinely recruiting guys 6-2 or under except for Centers.
