Other stuff: Started to say BJ dislocated his shoulder, but stopped short. "Hopefully we'll have him back, but we don't know when."

Said D-Line played "the best that they have played." Talked about Thompson & Dizer.

And look out: he says the Tulsa D-Line is "good with their hands." Don't throw to them BLM!

In JJ's press conference, seems he was overly protective of his players, did state that coaches need to do a better job, noticed his comments were more directed at coaches needing to improve, albeit the coaches have got to have players too.

JJ doesn't strike me as the type of guy who cuts his assistant coaches after 1 season.

Hey Cal, do you have specific comments to that effect? Did he direct his comments to Mason in public? Or are you getting this from other players/coaches?

true, but until this point we've heard that "the players are in the right place" and "maybe I should take you guys (the media) inside and show you the film-it's right there"

June Jones is a teacher, especially with his QBs. Even when his QB is throwing more completions to the other team than his own, he'll calmly go over to him and explain what it is he's doing wrong.

I'm not sure about his dumping asst. coaches after one season. He was never under that kind of pressure in Hawaii because he won right away. (record turnaround for a program) -that was thanks to the O-Line that former coaches recruited and Fred Von Appen (former Colorado asst.) trained. That year he had a real smart QB named Dan Robinson (pre med) who picked up his system in one summer. When Robinson graduated, and a couple of O-linemen went to the NFL, he had a rebuilding year (3 wins) but you could see the potential in T. Chang (NCAA passing record holder) and N. Rolovich (current Hawaii asst. coach). In Brennan's first year, Jones also struggled, but you could see the potential in Brennan and his recievers. In 9 years Jones had two losing seasons.

Be patient SMU fans. You have an offensive genius at the helm. He knows how to make the adjustments. He out coached Purdue, Michigan State, Arizona State, Alabama, Cincinnati, Oregon State, BYU etc. Each time, there was superior talent on the other side, but Jones figured out a way to win.

He also has a heck of an eye for talent, especially QBs. You're in good hands.

If you want more proof that he knows Quarterback talent, back in 98/99, he was offered millions to be an NFL Head Coach. He instead decided to move to the middle of the pacific to coach a team that had just gone 0-12 for half the money.
