just remember that over the last 11 games Tulsa has AVERAGED 52 points per game. Interestingly, Phil Bennett Coached SMU had something like the third best defensive performance against Tulsa in the last 2 years-and that was in Tulsa. What a Defensive Genius!!!!!!!

We play Tulsa close every time, we even beat them two years ago. I'm not saying that we win on Saturday, but I think it is possible. If Tulsa has an off day, and our offense plays well, we have a chance.

Any sideline with Coaches Jones, Rhinebold, Morrison et al has a chance.

I wonder if Tulsa's defense still sucks.

Based on how some of Tulsa's games have gone, this stacks up to be just the kind of game we're used to.

Central Arkansas hung with Tulsa for the first half or so. So did Rice. UCA was 28-20 for awhile.

My guess is our offense jumps out to a 20-3 lead. The 20 being achieved by a missed PAT. Next kickoff gives way to a 2-play drive. 20-10. Next series we throw a pick, giving rise to a 3-play drive. 20-17. We go three and out. Next play, TD. 24-20. Next drive, pick 6, 31-20, which brings us to halftime.

Tulsa gets the ball to start the second half. 5 play drive. 38-20. We start moving the ball, get a 4th and 2 on the Tulsa 40, and punt. Tulsa gets a first down, then punts. We think we're going to move the ball again, but go three and out. Another three play drive, 45-20. We move the ball again, kick a FG. 45-23. Tulsa surprisingly doesn't convert on 3rd and 11 from our 20 after a holding penalty, kicks a FG, 48-23.

And there's your final score, barring a late pick-6 for Tulsa, which would give us 55-23. Also in the realm of possibility at that point would be a late Logan TD, for 55-30, although the former is more likely.
I will not make age an issue in this campaign. I'm not going to exploit for political purposes my opponent's youth and inexperience.

My prediction: 31-24

Both scores are for Tulsa (1st half - 2nd half)

I'm happy if we can hold Tulsa to zero players having career days.

The defense is still really Jekyl and Hide, but I think it's better. UCA did torch us -- honestly, I think UCA has a better offense than Rice because of their quarterback's accuracy (watch for Nathan Brown in the draft). We start two or three freshmen and play a lot of young guys. We aren't giving up as many points as last year, or at least the margin of victory is much better (Tulsa is 5-0 ATS).

Another factor is that the offense has been changed. We aren't doing as much hurry up. We seem to be running the ball more and trying to put less pressure on the defense. The offensive line is better.

I think your offense can click against us. Your receivers' stats are really impressive. We still have a slow pass rush and our DEs don't generate a lot of pressure. I think TU will find a way to win, but probably won't cover.

Yeah. Nathan Brown so far this year has thrown for 1,439 yards and 14 TDs with 0 intercetions. I listened to an interview with the UCA coach and he was real proud of his team but said Tulsa just had him outmanned and his team just gave out. Still thinks Tulsa covers.
